we got that, and so much more.
A stage win and 7th overall - and such impressive riding along the way
Viewer discretion advised:
This happened in the UK (both riders have since made full recoveries) but this is the kind of craziness a close pass law in Ireland would help to end/minimise. Please keep the pressure on.
You really have to hand it to Sam Bennett; OK, we know he can sprint very fast indeed. But when called on to race Peter Sagan head-on (not an easy task) he's stepped up and done exactly what he needed to.
He totally deserves to win the green at

These are really, really hard men. Imagine 100km with this on a stage in the Tour de France going at the fastest forecast speed? Men from boys....
Nicolas Roche injuries from chainring required stitches after Tour crash

Perfectly legal. If they singled out you'd have a much longer line of cyclists to pass. Just wait until it's safe and then overtake, leaving at least 1 metre of space (like you would with a truck/tractor etc).
Being willing to wait just a little sorts out most road "problems"

Dan Martin was one savage athlete; a killer who won the big ones - blessed with a world class engine but with the mentality & work ethic to match it.
He'll be sorely missed by Irish cycling; himself and Nicolas Roche sustained Ireland on the pro scene for years.
We wish him well
The back wheel on
@CalebEwan
's bike was all over the place today; maybe just hit some really bumpy bits if tarmac? But he back of the bike seemed to be skidding even before jumping off the road. This cost him the stage, without question

Irish cycling lost a very good one last weekend - Raphael Kimmage.
His was a name that struck fear into his rivals, backed by some very serious talent. But, cycling aside, Raphael was just a very nice guy who loved a bit of craic; a man's man and a decent skin.
Rest in peace
You've got to love cycling โค
What other sport would you see this in? One of best athletes in world (Sam Bennett) out training with his old club mates, including his dad Michael.
Love to see this - all welcome; any age, any ability (once you have a bike)

The post-race interview of the season by a mile - such a refreshing change from the usual "thank my team mates" etc clichรฉs (and English is not even his first language)
We're really sorry to hear of Larry Roche's passing - he was a real gentleman - and dad to Stephen & Lawrence Roche and grandad to Nicolas Roche and Dan Martin. We extend our condolences to all of Larry's family and loved ones

The closest pass ever recorded by a cyclist without contact? It's the closest we've seen. From Galveston in the US - and because they have no close-pass legislation the police there said no laws were broken. This is OK....

His team mates are treating him poorly, it's a real shame to see it. But he also should probably assume the status of race leader a bit more
