@MKBHD Apple literally made it so I can't do my job. I review prepaid cell phone carriers, so I NEED a physical SIM to swap plans between phones. What are reviewers going to do? Convert to eSIM and then convert back to physical SIM? This is a mess.

I went to a corporate Verizon store to buy a SIM card. I was told they couldn’t sell me one unless I activated a line of service. So I went to BestBuy and bought one for $10 instead. And you can get one for free at an Apple Store if you ask politely. Whyyyy @Verizon ???

@greengart @Jaime_Rivera Physical SIM with eSIM provided the ultimate flexibility. Use eSIM your main US number. Then get a plan on a physical SIM in the country you are visiting. Apple just killed that, but ONLY for people living in the US. International models will still have physical SIM slots.

I think it should be a requirement that consumers are able to get their account number and port-out PIN without having to contact customer support. My favorite implementation is Verizon where you dial #PORT and instantly get the info you need.

Just learned something — Boost Mobile whitelists all App Store Data. Even when the plan is capped at 0.5 Mbps, I’m still able to download the X (formerly Twitter) app in 5 seconds. X is a 267.5 MB app that should take 1h 11m minutes to download at 0.5 Mbps.

It's not just you: AT&T's having major network issues right now. Company says it is "working urgently to restore service" and recommended Wi-Fi calling in the interim. No word yet on what caused outage, exactly how widespread it is or when it'll be fixed.
