Rereading Paglia sexual personae is reminding me how impoverished American youth are when taught to look at art from solely a political/moralistic lens and not from an aesthetic or metaphysical one. They have no idea how to read symbolism or archetypes. V sad

I was always baffled by the cognitive dissonance of my students who would constantly rail against the evils of capitalism while simultaneously advocating for sexual libertinism (consumerism)

I have never before devoted so many hours of work to a single piece of narrative journalism.
It’s a day-by-day account of the ethnic cleansing of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, as told by six of its women.
As

You would think in our age of performative advocacy more people would post about the atrocities faced by Armenians, yet one only gets points for posting about pre-selected “trendy” issues

@SohrabAhmari

The problem, contrary to reactionary hysterics, is not that sexual deviancy exists. It always has & always will, & it plays a key social function
The problem instead is the push to call deviancy normal
Not only is it socially irresponsible to do so, but it makes deviancy boring
