17 years ago, the Washington Post became the first paper to ever run Pearls. But they would not run today’s strip, as it apparently crossed some line. Lucky for you, Twitter has no such standards.
Just a quick note to say that the Pearls Before Swine strips that will run in newspapers from 1/18 – 1/22 are all about an attempted presidential coup. They were all created at least a month in advance of yesterday’s events and are not a commentary on them.
Today I can officially announce that I have co-written a movie with Academy Award-winning director Tom McCarthy that will make its debut at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. It is based on my first novel, Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made. Here is the trailer:

The ship manifest from when my 16 year-old grandfather came to America with virtually no skills and no money. Today, his grandson does a comic strip that appears in 800 newspapers. I'm thankful every day for the opportunity he gave me and the country that welcomed him in.
