A Tory like Jenrick overseeing Liverpool is a license for more privatisation, less insourcing and a deeper corrosion of political trust & social cohesion in our city. The people who elected me will suffer more as a result, and my conscience won't allow me to silently accept that.

I have left my CLP meeting early because I’m squirming at shallow requests for comradely behaviour. Earlier this year I was forced to resign from my job with an MP because of threats from local members. Their call for comradeship is an insult to the very meaning of the word.

So you want to ‘help’ the homeless but at the same time vote against and slander the only political party that has the values and policies which would end homelessness. Charity work is one thing, systematic change is another. Reality check: we need socialism, not sympathy.

It’s the last week of the general election. The @Conservatives have money but we have people. Talk to everyone you meet and tell them why they should vote @UKLabour , whether you’re at a bus stop, on tinder or in the pub. We could change our future through these conversations.

The best Christmas present I received this year is finding out that my eldest niece is naming her baby after me. Anyone who knows me knows that being an Aunty means the world to me. I can’t wait to meet my 12th niece, Sarah in 2020 👶🏻💕

Absolute disgrace what @RollsRoyceUK are doing to the workers in their Barnoldswick factory. In the middle of a pandemic, when things are tough as it, trying to lay off hundreds of jobs! #BattleforBarnoldswick #saveourtown #saveoursite @Unite_NorthWest 🚩🚩

Lovely weekend campaigning in Crewe to make sure @LauraSmithMP is re-elected and to wake up to a fairer future on the 13th December. I met so many first time campaigners this weekend and their energy is inspiring. Let’s smash another week of this election my wonderful comrades.

We are on the first break of our first @PeoplesMomentum NCG meeting! Thank you to the fantastic staff for spending their Saturday morning to explain to us their roles! As @jonlansman said to us yesterday, the staff have had a gruelling few months. Hats off to them!

Landlords should never have been able to pick and choose their tenants through #DSS discrimination. The rent they receive and spend will feel no different in their pocket. Yet the consequences of refusing a property has unmeasurable negative effects (1/4).

Can’t cope with these student scabs. Worried about your education? Not bothered about the working conditions and pensions of staff? Fine ok but don’t come crying when you’re working till god knows what age and for a pension worth peanuts. Get a backbone and a brain. #UCUstrikes

Our government is currently condoning a course of action which explicitly contravenes International Human Rights Law. Anyone who truly believes in Peace must speak out against the current decimation of Gaza and millions of Palestinian People. Solidarity from Liverpool.

Israel has ordered 1.1 million Palestinians in Gaza to evacuate, which the UN says is "impossible without devastating humanitarian consequences". I have called on the government to uphold international law and to not give Israel the green light to Gaza being obliterated:

Today is a good day. One of my close friends who was emotionally abused by someone who everyone thought was lovely. Well today she has realised that she is better off without him. It’s really hard when you’re the only one who sees it but stay strong, cut them out, you can do it.

I’m over the moon that #Uber have lost their case in the #SupremeCourt . Hopefully this will lead to more wins for workers around the country and stronger rights against unscrupulous employers.

My Valentine’s Day... bruised legs from falling in the mud, wandering country lanes in the pouring rain and getting lost in fields. Wouldn’t have it any other way (also cute cafes, red velvet cake and prosecco) 🥰

I’ve took time this weekend to remind myself that we must not be reduced by the GE result. In Connolly’s words “If you strike at, imprison, or kill us, out of our prisons or graves we will still evoke a spirit that will thwart you, perhaps raise a force that will destroy you.”

I don’t think these photos sum up how windy it was today when we was out campaigning but I had the best day with two of the most amazing women. We may have had all of our leaflets blown away and lost the car but I don’t know what I’d do without them ❤️ Wrap up warm comrades 🌹

My heart breaks for the family of Pat Finucane. There cannot be true peace in the North of Ireland without the British government recognising the collusive role it played in the atrocities committed during the Troubles

Over 20 years ago my first adjournment debate in Parliament was on the murder of Patrick Finucane. I hoped today that the family’s long campaign for an independent inquiry would succeed. Yet again the Government has failed the family & justice has been denied. A cowardly disgrace

Any member that reads this report and tries to vindicate antisemitism in our party - you are feeding a toxic and racist culture in which people don’t feel safe. This report is not a green light to welcome back people who have been suspended. It’s a stark wake up call to do better

Woke up to the loveliest post delivery, spent the day with two of my oldest best friends who stood by me when I made some spontaneous fun decisions. To say I’m feeling lucky and loved is a understatement. To anyone who is in a dark place, remember the worst day only has 24hrs.

So what you’re really saying is, private energy companies can continue to rake it in whilst millions of people jump through hoops to apply for menial support and a LOAN?! It is so clear that government loyalty lies with their pals in the private sector, not our communities.

1/ The energy regulator OFGEM has announced that the energy price cap will rise in April. Without action this would be very tough for millions of families. So we're going to step in and directly help people manage those extra costs with a £350 Energy Bills Rebate. Explainer 👇
