Hi! Today Iga ลwiฤ tek started her 525th day as the leader of women's tennis and, at this moment, it's the last one. I decided to create a thread about all good things which have happened since 2022 season - it's just about wins which stuck in my memory. Hope you enjoy!
Tomorrow Poland is going to be the only country which has both male and female player in TOP 10 of ATP and WTA Ranking thanks to Hubert Hurkacz and Iga ลwiฤ tek
We live in crazy times, I would never have even thought about it in my life, but it's about to happen๐ฅน
HUBIGA THINGS
Iga ลwiฤ tek after the final: "I knew this match is for access to the sea. I knew I had the whole Polish nation behind me. It gave me power. I don't care about trophy and ranking points, there are some accessories. I'm just happy that Poland maintains access to the sea"
He beat Mensik confirming the fact that Poland has access to the sea.
He beat Humbert and Cazaux confirming the fact Maria Skลodowska-Curie was not French.
Legend. National hero. Bestia. Fuckin goat๐
Iga: "My good friend Hubert gave whole 5 games in one set to unranked player lately so since he's going to be my partner at Olympics 2024 I decided to draw inspiration from him and adjusted to his level. Thats why this match looked this way. It's gonna be better soon, dont worry"
On this day 3 years ago Iga ลwiฤ tek beat the highest seed Simona Halep 6/1 6/2 in the 4th Round of Roland Garros. That win turned out to be a big breakthrough in her career.
Hubert Hurkacz decided to support The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (the biggest charity organization in Poland). Hubi has auctioned his racket which he beat Roger Federer. This year, the money from the auction will be used in the fight against eye diseases in children โค๏ธ
pov: you're polish tennis fan. Magdalena Frฤch played the longest match of the tournament, Iga Swiatek came back yesterday from 1/4 and 2/4 0-40 in the final set, Hubert Hurkacz has already played 5-set match and now you're watching Magdalena's match which already lasts 2 hours.
funny how all of them are basically from the same country๐ญpoland, usa, belarus and yeah rybakina represents kazakhstan, but comes from russia just like sharapova
Anyway... 3 different Polish tennis players achieved Australian Open quarterfinal for 3 consecutive years, both in women's and men's competition... I don't think we've even ever dreamed of such times. Two semifinals, one quarterfinal. I feel fulfilled.
Hubi: "I knew this match is for access to the sea. I knew I had whole Polish nation behind me. It helped me, that's why I didn't give up. I wish I was playing maybe a bit better, but I made it. Today I am the one who is National Hero."
On this day 9 years ago, Poland (Agnieszka Radwaลska, Jerzy Janowicz) won Hopman Cup 2015! The Poles showed excellent play throughout the week, winning their group and then defeating the USA (Serena Williams, John Isner) in the final.
Nice memoriesโบ๏ธ
Polak wygrywajฤ cy Wimbledon z Hsieh, Radwanska wspierajฤ ca ich z trybun. Inna Polka jest w tym samym czasie liderka rankingu od 100 tygodni. Jakby mi ktoล powiedziaล w 2014 ลผe takie coล bฤdzie miaลo miejsce za 10 lat to bym siฤ ลmiaล
so Hubi decided to play doubles with men's leader of the ranking in Halle and then he's going to play mixed doubles with women's leader of the ranking at Olympics
he knows someones has to carry him
gotta love our self-aware king <3
I know this means a lot for Jan. Remember last year's men's doubles final - he was so stressed and nervous, but today this experience paid off. He played this tournament with Hsieh by accident and they won. Life writes best scenarios.
So proud of them bothโค๏ธ๐๐
a co tam, pochwalฤ siฤ

It's summer day in August 2014. You are a teenager and during the whole day you enjoy your vacation carefree. In the evening you lie on the bed and want to watch the tennis tournament in Cincinnati on TV. The quarter-final matches look like this. No worries. No TikTok. Just fun.
On this day 8 years ago Agnieszka Radwanska played one of the best matches of her career and beat Garbine Muguruza 6/7 (5-7) 6/3 7/5 in the semifinal of WTA Finals 2015 in Singapore. Personally, one of the most beautiful tennis experiences of my life.
