The most bizarre record of the day is for sure this Pine Marten found and photographed by Paul Willoughby at the Parade Ground this evening where it was seemingly hunting Rabbits. There is also two Ring Ouzels present there #spurnbirds @RareBirdAlertUK

It has come to our attention that Short-eared Owls are being repeatedly flushed in our area. Needless to say, the Observatory does not condone this behaviour. Your flight views or photograph do not come before the welfare of these birds. Please share.

Disappointed to hear of the Twite on the Breach being subject to constant disturbance by some observers today. Please remember these are migrant birds which have travelled from the uplands, seeking winter refuge. Your photograph or better view doesn't come before their welfare.

a Big Happy 50th(!!!) Birthday to Spurn birder Adam Hutt. There are many of you out there who have enjoyed rarities Adam has found over the years, and many others who have watched him 'in action' ringing ... There may even be a couple of you who he's a bought a drink...🍻!

Polite reminder for all visitors: the Little Tern colony at Beacon Ponds is extremely vulnerable to disturbance. STAY WELL AWAY from the fenced area of beach which is clearly signposted, and respect the wardens on duty. @RareBirdAlertUK @YorksWildlife
