THE STORY (Pt. 2): The next week, the Pioneers found themselves down 19-16 late. A Derrick Sekuterski INT gave UC one last chance with 1:55 left. VanGalen led UC right down the field, culminating in a Tom Woodburn FG. In OT, it was Woodburn again, drilling a 35 yarder to win it.

“Coach, how do I get better in the off-season?” In order to get improve and create consistency, the first step is to train with a purpose. A way to do that is to train with your holder not just in season. Joey and SP work all year round to build that kicker/holder relationship.

Punting is all about drop and point of contact. I tell my punters to see what happens when they shorten and walk their steps and focus on those two things. You will hit about 85-90% of your max punt distance w/o trying to crush the ball. Try this drill & see the difference! #AAW

Best advice I can ever give to any kicker is to just take a deep breath and slow down. Wish I could go back in time and tell myself to slow down my approach and tempo on kicks, kickoffs, punts, etc. No reason to run to the ball. Take your time & focus on leg swing #TipTuesday

The best piece of advice for a player attending to college camps is to focus on themselves and not worry or pay attention to what another player is doing. Another kicker can be kicking the lights out of the ball, but what that kicker is doing has no effect on your performance
