BODY MACHINE (MERIDIANS) in the wild during my solo show
@Muffatwerk
in Munich this week 💙
My spatial gestures captured in VR and MoCap, like drawing sculptures in thin air, comprise the source data for these works.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to collect and
I used to draw differently.
My approach to drawing and machine learning, data, and robotics started as a way to evolve my drawing ability by designing artificial intelligence systems, to explore collaboration with a robotic unit.

Two weeks left for one of my favourite projects from last year;
ASSEMBLY LINES, a multi-robotic installation I developed exploring meditation, collective presence, & mark-making with machines.
It debuted during In Search Of the Present at Emma Museum in Finland.

Tbh I've been working with AI systems for almost 10 years and it's only deepened my relationship with drawing, painting, sculpture and image making... With the recent wave of interest in art made with AI tools, what becomes of the human hand? The written word?
In early May I quietly relocated myself and the Doug(s) to the 🇬🇧 UK.

Vipassana Meditation, 20 min -- Drawing and meditation share so many similarities for me. Repetition (through gesture and mantra), an activation of the non-conscious experience, a centering state.
I've been enjoying sharing works in progress over the past little while.

Here’s a moment of meditative euphoria during my off-grid expedition and research residency in the Arctic Circle; I spent five minutes submerged in 0.2c glacial melt. Feeling the unending polar sun and calving glaciers affect the temperature of the water on a daily basis by
