One of the most important things I think cosplayers online (or anyone, really) can learn to maintain a healthy body image is how to identify when someone has altered the way their body looks in a photo. Once you know what to look for it’s usually pretty obvious.

@AngelicDaze I'm in no position to speak on this but from what little I've seen it mostly seems to be the teenagers who try to "police" the community. The only real instance of that I've seen from adults were the ones who were telling minors not to cosplay from very "adult" media.

It is so important to be well-rounded and have friends & interests outside of cosplay. This goes for any close-knit, insular hobby with a heavy social media presence- you need to be able to have some distance when you need it.
