@austinfacer
just havin fun here. don’t expect any breaking news here, I have a day job.
Really wishing my dad was around to see the news this week.
Hockey was such a huge part of our lives growing up and my dad was the star of my hockey career.
He was the scorekeeper, team “mom”, president of the high school hockey league, and my biggest fan.

I said yesterday I wished that the game in Iowa was the one we got here in Utah.
Nah…we got the right one.
Unforgettable night. This is going to work. I don’t think anyone in attendance tonight would disagree.
Early thoughts:
- Yamamoto is going to get every opportunity to make this team playing on the first line and first PP unit.
- He and Beaudoin are fun to watch on ice together. Forechecking hard.
- Uniforms look great.
- SEG+ broadcast needs a lot of work.
Me too. And I’m going to think about my dad, Ken Kitchen, Bob Shegrud, Brian Acord, many childhood friends, and all that good stuff that made hockey my life when I was little.
The 10 year old me can’t believe this is happening.
I’m gonna bawl my eyes out on Tuesday night. I already know.
At my first ever NHL—and more importantly Utah Hockey Club game tonight.
I am still amazed that we have an NHL team here in Utah. Big shoutout to
@RyanQualtrics
@DwyaneWade
and the rest of the SEG team.
First video and images leak of the Utah Hockey Club in EA’s NHL 25.
Keller is the first player featured with an A on his sweater.
The end also shows the entire team with the phrase, “Hockey is Utah’s Game.”
My dear friend Eric is right.
This is a fun moment but let’s not lose our collective minds when UHC has a 5 game losing at some point this season. That’s certainly quite possible and maybe even likely.
To all new hockey fans it’s important to know, the season is split into several segments.
October-Halloween: practically pointless
American thanksgiving: playoff teams and playoff race in view
December-February 5: Dog days
Valentine’s Day: sport fundamentally changes
If you need to understand why Mikhail Sergachev is so imporant to this team, this is the game to watch. This team will be so much better when the regular season rolls around and he's playing every night.
🧵:Just want to say one quick thing about my show and other UHC podcasts.
I’ve been noticing a lot of comments on my YouTube channel denigrating other pods.
Let’s draw the line in the sand now. Don’t bring that shit into my comments section.
Around the same time as the NHL Draft Lottery, SLC City Council will be briefed on the revitalization zone around the Delta Center, presumably by Smith Entertainment Group.
Could be a huge night for Utah’s sports future.

Sounds like Utah Hockey Club's name has been chosen.
Utah HC president Chris Armstrong: "It's been very clear to us what our fans would like us to be called. ... I'm not in a position or prepared to tell you what that is today."
Roll out the red carpet for the Doans.
Josh will be wearing No. 19 in Utah, same as his Hall of Fame father, Shane. He wore 91 in Arizona since it had been retired by the Coyotes.
Josh Doan is one of the exciting young players for the Utah hockey club. He’s hockey royalty as his dad is essentially the best player in Coyotes franchise history.
We need to honor him and has family in Utah 👌
Lots of energy from
@utahhockeyclub
to start the game. Beaudoin is clearly a high motor guy, probably thrilled out of his mind to be in an NHL uniform.
Yamamoto is playing like his life depends on it (which it sort of is).
Blues up 1-0.
I find it kinda odd that we haven’t seen SEG roll out a team website, social media handles, or really any way at all for us to connect with the team.
I guess it’s early but still.
Guys let’s make a vow right now.
We will NOT grab the folks who vote for the team name we don’t like and drag them out into the street and beat them. OK?
As much as we might want to, we’re better than that.
Not to make excuses but the scheduling of this game was so weird. Whose idea was it to make this team fly all the way across the country after playing 3 games in NY/NJ?
Feels like a conspiracy. I bet Big Airlines was involved in someway.
That was unreal offense by Utah's blueline.
Great pinches by Cole and Durzi.
Then a frickin laser beam of a shot from Sergachev.
So much o-zone time, they were able to cycle a new unit in while keeping the pressure on. Love it.
All this talk of the players not wanting to come here is absolute garbage. They’re thrilled to get out of that terrible ownership situation in Arizona.
Goaltender Connor Ingram: “I'm not gonna lie to you, I really like Salt Lake City. We stop every year on the drive in (from Saskatoon to Arizona) and I have an Airbnb booked in Sundance for the drive home. I'm excited for Salt Lake City.“
