Lost all my notes from Notability because I accidentally switched off iCloud sync on my iPad.
All notes from final year gone. A month before prelims. 🙂
My little brother is so social, the mango vendors and security man asked about how he’s doing in college.
I haven’t met any of them before 😭
People know me as Aum’s elder brother in my own neighbourhood. Fucking hell 😂 what a guy
Started paediatrics after Medicine and took me a second to realise you can't just put a BP cuff on a patient.
You've got to convince it won't hurt, ask them to try it on you first and hold their hands while you put a tiny spo2 clip on their hands 🤣
I think the only advice I'd give myself if I had to do Final year again would be to religiously watch case discussions by The White Army on YT.
The way they teach clinical skills and knowledge is unparalleled.

He's literally the guy MLK Jr. based his principles upon. Non violence, Honesty and Equality is what he taught. He acknowledged the plight in South Africa later on in his life and changed his philosophy on it. Yet you will bash him up because of British media propaganda.
@scalpelinhand
Patient has every right to say no here. You can counsel them but that's it. Remember, this is not a reflection of you, your position or your character, it's their preference and should be acknowledged on its merit.
Attended my first medical conference! - Cardiocon Ahmedabad 2023.
Felt like a literature review of everything new with cardiology right now. Thoroughly enjoyed it (when I understood) and jotted down some research ideas too…
(icecream is courtesy of a pharma sales rep) 😂
Coldplay is so overrated man. You should definitely not buy tickets for their concert in Mumbai. I say, skip it
However, if you do manage to get tickets, just hand it to me and I'll make sure it is disposed off safely. Preferably VIP tickets.
Humbled and honoured to be a panellist in the 10th National Conference on Paediatric Education as a UG student.
Thank you very much for the opportunity sir! I hope I did justice to it.
@ProfSomashekhar
Gujarati fans (me) booing a Gujarati (Pandya) for leaving Gujarat Titans for a team owned by a Gujarati (Mukesh bhai) for dhandho purposes. Make it make sense
A followup patient asked the nurse that she wanted to see "Dr Parth from Rajkot" today... Made my whole week 🙏🏽
I've never been more sure I want to become a doctor. Internship has it's ugly side but small things make me feel like this is the right career option for me :)
On the train, this aunty was in visible pain with hematoma a few cm from her wrist
Most likely looked like a distal radial fracture. (Smith?) immobilised the arm to her chest with a shawl, cold water bottles, and we found a diclofenac + pcm combo in the coach
Best thing for a med student is to have friends outside of the field. Sure, it hurts when they are already earning and have stable relationships but they keep me sane enough
This is a thread on my humble opinion on how to get into research as a UG student.
Please note: Take this with a pinch of salt because I personally don't believe I am qualified to even talk about this but since I get DMs for this daily, I'd like to attempt to address it.
I have decided not to buy ANY final year textbooks for MBBS (for now).
I’m going to prepare everything from
@ambossmed
library and do anki + questions to make it stick.
Have 10 days till my internals, and I hope this experiment works 😮💨
Grandmother has Alzheimer's so I ask her MMSE questions every time I'm at home.
And I love how it light ups my dad's face when she says what fruits are in season correctly 🥹
Purest emotions.
Helped calm down relatives of a new ICU patient (without giving them false hope) and I have a feeling this might be one of my few, relative strengths as a doctor.
I'm still a very inept, kaam chor intern but talking to patients comes naturally to me and I like it.
For anyone learning ECGs,
I'm only a 2nd yr student but my grandma's condition motivated me to learn them quite early. Here's what helped me:
1. Najeeb's lectures - explains why and how of every lead.
2. John Hampton's ECG book as rec. by
@HaryaxPathak
bhaj
Hope it helps you!
No NEXT exam for 2019 Batch
Health minister Mansukh mandaviya in his speech in Aiims Raipur said “They will not conduct NEXT for 2019 batch in this tenure” only they will have to give NEXT for registration of their degree .
So 19 batch is safe from the NEXT exam currently .
I'm very happy that people took time out to wish me today. I will get back to everyone but for now spending time with my family who made it all happen ❤️ thank you for your wishes!
Just realised the reason I didn’t enjoy neuro till now was probably because my ‘ego’ dismissed it as uninteresting when the basics became too uncomfortable for me.
Reminds me of Gita talking about how you should forget your ego if you ever want to learn/gain knowledge.
Thinking about making a thread on "my opinion" about how to go about research for MBBS students since many of you ask the same.
If anyone has specific questions they'd want me to address, please let me know! I'll try my best to help :D
I am convinced Leo has incredible diagnostic skills.
When I met him yesterday, he immediately started licking my bad ankle. He’s done that with my knee too after I’d come from a football tournament
and he guarded my leg cast when I had a fracture 2 years ago…
They know!
Read somewhere a while ago that having an aesthetic physique is physical proof of your discipline, sacrifice and hardwork.
I think about that sometimes
Earlier this week, I accompanied a relative for a surgery consult
At the end, the surgeon told my uncle I have a bright future as a doctor ahead and man I'm still carrying that high all week.
So motivating 🫡
Did my father just refer to me as a "das-hajar pagaryo" (10,000 wage boy) while pulling mom's leg over making my favorite sabzi over his?
@PMOIndia
internship stipend badha do saheb 😂🙏🏽
So I just shared my hotspot to the Panama national women’s football team so they could pay online at the mall.
Had a great conversation with them in the little conversational Spanish i know.
The coach casually went “ah yeah, we’re playing Brazil on Monday”
Hope they win 🫡
I'm not a Marrow subscriber, but
@docrohan
's surgery videos have single handedly questioned my PG choices.
Yes, it is a LOT of information but if you use it as reference when you don't understand something, it does wonders to your understanding, confidence and love for surgery
Was having a discussion with dad about taking the PLAB route to work in the UK and he wasn’t sure I’d be happy there…
I told him about the existence of a certain football club on Sir Matt Busby Way in Manchester
'The Internet is a weird place. You're gone for a day and feel like you missed everything, but if you're gone for a week you feel like you missed nothing.'
My first article was - Gene Therapy for Heart Failure. We found that no one had compiled the recent advances for quite some time so all we did was do a thorough search for everything that had been done in gene therapy till 2022 and put it all together - like a summary. :)
Saw an AMBOSS question that was so eerily similar to an ICU patient I managed for 2 weeks last month, I was blown away.
age, gender, previous history, vitals, findings. SAME. EXACTLY SAME.
Mindfucked 🤯
Just got out. WOW. 🤯
Imagine bringing in a life everyday at work! Incredible happiness...
Going back in 30 minutes for another procedure too. Absolutely can't wait!
Had everted my ankle playing football yesterday. Was limping all day, pain on weight bearing, big swelling.
Went to Hanuman Temple - its Saturday. Offered prayers and got home. Honest to god, the pains gone, can walk, go up and down stairs. No pressure either.
🚩🙏🏾
I experienced the Ganga Arti at Rishikesh for the first time and I was absolutely mesmerised. Haven't felt such spiritual energy and positivity ever before! Moved me.
Virat Kohli playing footie with Beckham before the biggest match of his career (arguably) is like watching Zidane's Madrid warming up before UCL final.
Zero nerves. No pressure. Vibe till it's time to do your job.
Do some people really NOT have a voice in their head? Do they not communicate with an inner monologue of themselves?
There’s literally a voice reciting this sentence as I type and there always is one. Crazy to think how some people don’t have that
If you had food on the table everyday and went to school and grew up to be a decent human being, just be grateful for your parents man.
This is so disrespectful…
Left Fresher’s party early and caught some greasy pizza and coke on the way.
Got this sinking feeling like I missed out on all this cringy college romance stuff.
Life is great but one of those days 😂
Sharing a small win:
Had seen a sore on nana’s foot that was still there so I told maa to take him to the doc.
Sure enough, HBA1C was 8+ and now he is on appropriate mgt.
Felt nice to be able to help people I care about. Makes you think all the hardwork is going to be worth it
Went to Australia last year.
1. Each and every neighborhood has cricket grounds and football pitches
2. Every university has active sports scene with multiple A to D teams
3. Even my 12 year old cousin plays in an under 15 girl's test championship as wicket keeper batsman.
Population of Australia is 2.6 crores. That is less than the population of New Delhi. Their weather is hot and 90% of that country is so hostile that nothing can live there.
But that country has won
6 Men's Cricket world Cups
3 Men's Hockey World Cups
2 Men's Rugby World Cups

A 'health reporter' questioning the authenticity of a doctor who has also cited all his information just because he mentioned his religion in his Twitter bio shows exactly what is wrong with pseudo-liberals on high pedestals.
Happy to share that my review article on Ulcerative Colitis got accepted in Disease-a-month for its November 2023 issue. 🎉
This would be my 2nd publication in this prestigious journal this year.
Next goal: Systemic Review & Meta-analysis.

Go to barber. Nod and sit down. Close eyes and listen to the sound of scissors for 20 minutes. He already knows what to do. Pay 100, thank and leave.
Therapy.
Father has 'advised' me to not use my internship stipend for any expenses and use the money to make investments only.
He thinks it's so that I think like a businessman and not a salaried employee 🙃
Irshalgad fortress, Mumbai last year. Went with mutual friends from KEM.
@nihalath
took a crap on the peak.
Someone found a scorpion they talked about was why Prazosin is an antidote
Overall nice day 👍🏾
If anyone's studying for Step 1 and 2:
I just got cramfighter - the scheduling website for free.
Just input billing details and you'll get the package for free.
Just realised I tend to watch The Office when I’m focused most.
Study all day, work hard and come back to a couple of episodes of The Office. Goodnight.
@AdiG1993
Agreed and this is because of how poorly trained MBBS students are in regards to patient care. Students start cramming for PG from 2nd year and Internships are wasted in menial tasks instead of actual learning and responsibility. System doesn't enable good MBBS doctors.
@aishxo
And mainly because what a lot of Muslims learn isn't Islam in its pure form. Often its diluted and misinterpreted to suit some random teacher's personal opinion. Same with other religions as well
