A set of twins with Down syndrome died at the SCBU on Thursday, the father went to CMAC and claimed I deliberately killed his baby.
I had stopped working in the SCBU two days before (Tuesday).
What happened?
NOTE OF WARNING:
Dear Nigerian Doctors,
Avoid giving patients your personal numbers. Outside of your ward round and clinic consults, you have no business talking to patients on your personal lines.
Your hospital needs to provide ward phones and call duty phones, so that
Anyways, my time finished at the SCBU that Tuesday which also saved me from what was to come two days later…but a life lesson was learnt.
Even if you’re the president, the maximum you can get from me as a patient is my email and that’s even after immense pressure.

Buhari's victory is a lifeline to the Nigerian church to purge itself of her charlatan leaders.
At least now you know God didn't (doesn't) speak to them

The nurses were trying to de-escalate but the man refused o. Luckily our resuscitation succeeded. The only positive that day as the SR we were working with at the time was a pain in the ***

The team ordered a PCV from the main lab as confirmatory to the one we did at our side lab. I noticed a mix up in the results for the twins. The parameters were same as we got but it was given to the other twins.
My partner was on call, and that call was bloody.
3 Apneas, 4 Convulsions.
I resume usually by 6 am instead of government and department sanctioned 8, and when I came one of the apnoeic had died, one was stable and one was still on the Resuscitaire.
The Nigerian system means when you’re on call, you will continue working the next day like nothing happened overnight. So I had to relieve my partner to go and freshen up for the days work.
As I was taking blood samples from the babies who had seizure.
Tell me who was calling..
I decided they needed to repeat the test but I didn’t want them to pay for the repeat as the “mistake” was from the facility.
Now, there are no ward phones or paging system in Nigeria.
What to do?
I gave the mother my number to call me when she gets to the lab, on the condition that she wouldn’t call me again after that night. She agreed.
She went to the lab and I spoke to the person on duty.
All was sorted. I left my partner at the SCBU to retire for the night.

Ben Bruce successfully wasted 4 years in the senate contributing next to nothing save twitter rants.
Apparently he's not going to have a second term.
Bye Ben.....Bye
When it comes to Nigeria, I quit the club of complainers long ago.
I am in the league of those who do their bit to change the narrative, understanding that if Nigerians don’t change Nigeria, no one will.
It is impossible for the political to fail if the masses are not culpable.
I delight so much in travels, it’s brought me so much happiness and memories but it’s even greater to be able to do it with my better half.
6 countries this summer, hundreds to go.
Together we will see and conquer the WORLD.
The father of the twins, I told him I couldn’t talk and he should come to the SCBU instead, before I could even finish, the nurses ran a “code blue”. I dropped the phone and ran to the Resuscitaire to stabilize the baby. Lo and behold he came in and started shouting.
Last month, I "fully" joined mainstream politics on the platform of the All Progressive Congress.
As I truly know ALL POLITICS IS LOCAL, here I am with the executives of my ward.
No more mere analysis, we'll contribute our quota on all our spheres of Influence and Naija go win.
To love and be loved is the creed of life. I was delighted to receive this token from the nurses.
The first rule I learnt as a doctor is “To have a happy practice, your nurses must be happy”.
My time with the facility ended yesterday but the bond we forged remains.

I'm grateful for all that she encompassed, taught me and made of me.

Priority is relative, there are often multiple issues discussed in a parliamentary sitting.
So it’s very possible to walk and chew gum.
Now, call them out on any issues they’re not dealing with but it doesn’t make this issue any less a public danger in Nigeria.
“The sum of US$250 million will be invested on a dry port in Ibadan, Oyo State, and it will decongest the ports in Lagos, and speed up clearance of goods by the Customs Service.”—Chairman China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC), Fenjian Chen, today.
It's 4 years since this viral tweet and when I look back, I'm very grateful to God and men, to all who engaged.

I agree he must do all he takes to curtail it and prevent future occurrences but to accuse him of encouraging it just because he is Fulani/ Muslim is either bigotry or sheer ignorance.
Again, we are all in this together, even when PMB’s tenure ends.

Agree...there’s gain in selling Nigeria.
Selling Ghana is not an option, it’s a loss.
So, we’ll just allow France colonize you this time around.
For someone who really doesn't like school, I've found myself in the corridors of University for 13th academic session in a row.

Yesterday marked the end of my time working with the Nigerian army.
I saw first hand the sacrifices of these patriots for the unity & sovereignty of our dear nation.
They deserve better.
For me, it was a huge honor to serve by serving those who risk their lives for us.

These men were people who contributed immensely to student and societal life in the good old days of Ukraine.
I pray that a speedy end be brought to the war and that her healing be even quicker.
I also can’t wait for the students in Sumy to be evacuated this week.
I’ve been observing this Nigerian Twitter since 2015 and it’s the same set of bitter people.

Hi mum,
It's been six long years, the night always threatened the morning.
At some point, it seemed as though the clouds will never clear, like the sun will never shine again. If only I could turn back the hands of time.
