Today, after being left destitute and deprived access to her kids after instituting divorce action - the court ordered that a mother be reunited with her three minor kids; paid R260 000 arrear maintenance and the former husband be imprisoned upon failure to comply with the order.

Today I appeared at the Labour Court before a female Judge and the Judge’s clerk was also female. My opponent was a female and both our instructing attorneys were female. Can’t explain how it felt when we realised this but it was the best way to close off women’s month. #100more

A month later we found out the real reason why.

A father and his wife in Thaba Nchu allegedly hired a hit man for R25 000 to murder his 16 year old son by another women to avoid paying maintenance. The child came home from soccer practice and was shot in the head and chest.

Although this is great news, I’m concerned about those people who don’t have access to the Public Protector’s Office. Why is it that an institution such as the Government Pension Administration Agency would need intervention from the Public Protector to comply with Court orders?
