Just wrapped up my Reproducible Science course! I am so proud of how far all the students have come and so grateful I got to work with such a wonderful cohort for my first semester as an instructor. Such an honor to witness everyone's progress and be a part of it!
Major breakthrough with the analyses for my last PhD chapter lifted me from the pit of despair to an exhilarating feeling of relief. Went through plans A,B,C,D, was getting close to Z when finally... the light! Good lesson on the importance of keeping an open mind under pressure.

First year of college (Bio major) I failed my inorganic chemistry exam 3 times. The fourth time around, after changing my studying method, I passed with the highest grade (30 cum laude in 🇮🇹). 9 years later, I’ve got BSc in Bio cum laude + MSc in Ecology cum laude AND a PhD.

weekly seminar series. If you are in Gainesville, come by NZH 112 to hear about my dissertation work! If you are elsewhere, you can live-stream it at this link:
When I envisioned writing the acknowledgments section of my dissertation, I pictured myself sitting at my computer during normal work hours, not typing it on my phone at 2AM in a sudden bout of inspiration while I cannot sleep. I guess I was wrong. Two weeks until the defense!
About to give my presentation at
