Sodium on the Moon is not locked only in the minerals. It exists as a thin adsorbate layer of atoms that can be liberated into the exosphere- finds Ch2. CLASS on ch2 makes the first map of lunar sodium.
Very happy to see this work from Yash, Amit and his team at PRL appear in Nature geoscience
And a little pride in this because Yash did a project with me at Space Astronomy Group as a project student before heading off to PRL for his PhD
