Thread: On 2 Nov 1991, Dainik Jagran declared that 100 karsevaks were killed by indiscriminate police firing on Ram bhakts. The figure changed the next day: to 32. It is difficult to imagine #BabriMasjid 's demolition without the editorial activism of Hindi Press, esp Jagran.

Everytime I catch a man staring at me in public transport, I ask him if he wants to say something. He acts supremely shocked, shakes his head—"what me? no no I was looking there"—but after that 'manages' to not look at all It's amazing how they know how to behave when cornered.

Took evening off and went for a random movie. Came out to hear mall reverberating with screams of 'Jai Shri Ram' & 'Topi Chor Murdabad' after people came out of that radio rwanda. They were not moved by Kashmiri Pandits' plight. They were vengeful - out to kill. Varanasi 2022.

Once upon a time, I had to live in Ahmedabad for 3 months and by the end of it, I nailed the perfect sequence of sentences to horrify shops owners in Navrangpura: 1) uncle, cigarette hai? 2) uncle, ande hai? 3) accha koi baat nahi, shukriya.

@dpkBopanna uncomfortable with this sort of reporting gaze. It's almost pitting taking off the hijab vs education as a choice in front of the man and he chooses one. We should not be focusing on what people are "choosing" when pushed by this violent regime. The teacher saying no has kum kum!

Few months ago, I heard an old man go door to door asking for money so his son could do his last sem of BA in econ. His marks were so good. I posted it here and y'all donated. Today he called me to say he missed his MA entrance for HCU because India has locked up Kashmir.
