Danwadaag IDP site in Galkacyo North hosts mostly minority & marginalized communities.
During our recent visit, we saw how our partner
@pmwdo
, a minority-led NGO, brought clean water to 2000 households in Danwadaag & 4 other settlements by setting up sustained WASH structures.

has conducted a 3-day training on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), GBV, & Child Protection. This has enabled build the capacity of staff to detect, report & respond on PSEA, GBV, & CP issues and uphold their standards.

Now, improved WASH services have reached 19,400 people in 4 rural villages & displacement camps in Jowhar.
In response to acute food insecurity, exacerbated by the recent flooding in Somalia, 🇦🇺 has provided an additional AUD 3.5 million to

to address critical needs - healthcare, food, clean water and services for children, families and GBV survivors.
