New painting I made. The text is from Surat al Baqarah:

"So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Wajh of Allah"
Hope you guys like it.

It's unfortunate how much Muslim men are belittled for their sexual desires. When they struggle with them, they are shamed for being "weak" and are told merely to fast. While fasting is a Prophetic medicine /1
My cousin's friend recently returned to Islam after years of apostasy while living abroad in the West.
Alhamdulillah, he's back.
But at what cost? Addiction to drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, and a completely broken sense of self.
Don't ever sacrifice your faith for the dunya.
I am so glad I bookmarked this and came back to it the other day, because this recitation singlehandedly, by Allah's Mercy, reignited my fire for the Quran, during a period of distance from it. Alhamdulillah.
One of the most beautiful definitions of "Sufism" I've read.
Shaykh Abu al-Hasan Al-Shadhili, may Allah sanctify his secret, said:
"Tasawwuf: the disciplining of the soul upon slavehood and returning it to the governance of Divine Lordship"
Unfortunately many Muslims neglect this hadith:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When you are three persons sitting together, then no two of you should hold secret counsel excluding the third person until you are with some other people too, for that would grieve him." [Bukhari]
This is a lie against the Messenger ﷺ and anyone who parrots this should make tawbah immediately.
If the Prophet ﷺ was "against it" he would not have been married to ~11 wives at one time. /1
Rejecting polygamy is sunnah even the prophet SAW was against it and didn’t want it for his daughter no need to use western terminologies to gaslight Muslim women for something that they were given the right to reject.
In Vienna, some female officers made my wife take off her niqab
When looking for a layover to Istanbul, we were trying to ensure it was through a country where it wouldn't be a problem
We missed that Austria is in the handful of countries that banned it in public completely. /1
Unsubstantiated value claim.
1. Mockery =/= scrutiny
If Islam didn't tolerate scrutiny, we wouldn't have seen so historical debates between Muslims and non Muslims within the history of Islam, or even the ability for Muslims to ask questions about rulings and creed. /1
@ShahinRahmanUK
The priest we had growing up said something quite profound that I still remember. You have to question the validity of any religion that refuses to open itself to satire, mockery or question. The truth will survive all that, the rest won't.
Friendly reminder that "adab" is not another synonym for "niceness". The two often have clear overlap, but "adab" is more comprehensive and entails treating each moment, situation, interaction in the appropriate manner. /1
I love this verse!
"When Moses came at the appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he asked, 'My Lord! Reveal Yourself to me so I may see You.' Allah answered, 'You cannot see Me! But look at the mountain. If it remains firm in its place, only then will you see Me.'
Don't trust those whose lives are run by their anxieties.
"Don't trust your kids because they will absolutely abandon you."
"A man will abuse you. Don't rely on him."
"Your future wife will divorce you and take half plus more. Don't get married." /1
The hadith says: "قَدْ مَاتَ"
"Has died" - not "is dead".
"Has died" implies a state of transition. "Is dead" implies the state after that transition. The difference in implication is huge.
Abu Bakr (ra): "Whoever worshipped Muhammad, then Muhammad is dead, but whoever worshipped Allah, then Allah is Alive and shall never die."

People really be acting like household care is slavery lol. Allahul musta'an. May we be granted righteous spouses who meet our needs and the fulfill the good in all our desires.
Those who come from religiously oriented families who support them in their Deen better show the utmost gratitude for this amazing blessing.
I sympathize with every Muslim who feels like an outcast in their own home.
Please don't use the example of Sayyida Aisha (ra) at the first fitna to brandish her as a heroic, military leader in an attempt to make a point about female empowerment.
This is very disrespectful to her memory because it's inaccurate from multiple perspectives. /1
I didn't know this til now, but there was a girl that converted last year through our MSA. Her first event last year was not our events on the Purpose of Life, nor the History of Women in Islam.
It was our MSA bubble tea and paint night where she came to love our community. /1

People think that love is just happiness and butterflies - that it's elation, but the reality is that love comes with sacrifice. Love is really choosing the Beloved over yourself.
This is absurd.
Pajeets are hating this tweet because they think this is over praising. Some Muslims are simping they think this is sound praise and accurate framing. Absolutely absurd.
The reality is that this tweet is a complete disgrace to the Messenger of God, Al-Insaan
People constantly ask me to mock Mohammad and Islam. To balance out my mocking. But the things they accuse him of aren’t based in reality. Mockery has to be based in reality. And he doesn’t appear to be anything like what the zionists claim. At all. And I’ve went super hard at
Great commentary re: shift in abortion laws by Ismail Royer. Sad that so much clergy has missed this:
"Such a law would forbid what some ulema PERMITTED, not what they REQUIRED. But Roe REQUIRED what the Shariah FORBIDS by ijmaa, even if it PERMITTED what some ulema permitted"
@OwenBenjamin
Dear Owen,
Muslims should do a better job when communicating their ideas to you. Absolutely.
However, when posting on twitter unrestrictedly - you're naturally going to get low quality answers, which I'm sure you are aware of. /1
Some of the men who claim to have the most ghayrah are actually the most inconsiderate to their women. Consider this hadith:
"I told him, ‘I felt shy, because I know you're a jealous man.’ He said, ‘It's worse for me to see you carrying the dates on your head...'
It's upsetting seeing some Muslims who are so enthusiastic about Biden, as if he's our saviour, a paragon of hope, just because they perceive Trump to be the paragon of evil.
Cast your vote but the lesser of two evils is still evil, and that's not something to be excited over.

Something very wrong with people who share the most intimate spheres of themselves.
Something very sinister about the way people encourage this self-disclosure.
As salamu alaykum,
I am sharing this by the encouragement of a dear friend. Alhamdulillah, I successfully match-made my first couple - they did their nikah a couple of weeks ago.
A second couple is in progress, and have a solid trajectory inshaAllah. (Pray for them) /1
My friend Amr passed away yesterday after suffering from cancer for over 10 years. He was low-key in my town, and not many people knew of him.
Please make Dua for him and his family, so they are met with relief and reunion in the highest of Jannah.
Do you sympathize with the families of slain Nazis?
Then why do you sympathize with IDF soldiers and Israeli occupiers who have actively oppressed the Palestinian people for over 75 years?
Spare the crocodile tears.
Was disappointed in myself today because I did super poorly in my class and wasn't as prepared as I hoped to be. I shared how I felt with someone, and out of their wisdom, they shared this with me. It was the reminder I needed today to keep going, alhamduillah.
Its a disease of the heart to read the worst possible interpretation into others' words.
Speaking with clarity is a virtue, but seeking clarity is also a virtue.
"The human soul doesn't want to be advised or fixed or saved. It simply wants to be witnessed exactly as it is"
An important principle in counseling is to give advice only when the recipient is ready. Until that point, they are only seeking acknowledgement for their problem.

Important reminder from Imam Al-Ghazali (ra) to take advantage of your time before your age strikes:
"And whoever reaches age 40 whose good does not overcome their evil, let them prepare for the Fire."
Noticed some people on Muslim Twitter missing Dr. K's point.
The type of suicidal mind he is referring to indicates a spiritually diseased heart, but that's the point!
They are operating in a materialist framework, and have taken it to its logical conclusion - nihilism.
Dr K: "Most of the suicidal men that I work with - their mind isn't malfunctioning - they genuinely have a life that is no longer worth living"

When people say "Sayyida Khadija was a business woman" but completely neglect she sacrificed all her wealth for the cause of her husband, the Prophet ﷺ...
Some women take “my money is my money” way too far. If your husband is struggling while you are living comfortably then why on earth would you not assist him??? He’s your LIFE PARTNER??? This is just cruel
He was in Canada for like 8 years and he went back home without his degree too.
May Allah mend his heart and heal him completely. Ameen.
A reminder to be grateful to your faith and hold on to it tightly.

How quickly a speaker says the salawat is a litmus test for their reverence.
If someone rushed to resume his speech so slurs the salawat, he's got his priorities out of order. Because the salawat is greater than any point that could be made.
When his Lord appeared to the mountain, He levelled it to dust and Moses collapsed unconscious. When he recovered, he cried, 'Glory be to You! I turn to You in repentance and I am the first of the believers.'"
[Surat al-A'raf, verse 143]
The above are all speculative and preventable with sound decision making and accountability.
But such people discard any sense of agency from themselves and like to blame all their problems on inevitable external pressures.
They will never be happy or successful. /2
Heard about almost as many divorces this summer as I have marriages.
A divorce isn't the end of the world, but it's certainly a reminder about the effort it takes to maintain a quality marriage.
May Allah heal our hearts and purify them.

As is attributed to Imam Shafi'i (ra), "it does not befit a lion to answer the dogs."
Most Muslims who are religious even at a surface level know this is haram, but very few members of a given community are willing to prevent and condemn it when it happens 'for the sake of the community'.
Its time a 'navigating differences'-esque statement is made.
