Throw in Ryder Cup wins '85, '87, two Greensboros, '86 & '88 & a Phoenix '88.
What a ride.
I'm a little biased, of course, but I say this is the best shot ever on 16 given the circumstances - coming straight off eagle at 15 and finishing the job on 17. Tiger's chip-in was truly majestic but he then bogeyed the last 2 to let DiMarco back in. Jack was merciless like that
Revisited this again - and how marvellous it is. 71st hole of a Major with two coppers on the tee and LT & Mr Lu chatting like it's a Friday roll up. What a snap shot from

'Once we understand the mechanics of the natural swing motion, we can use the natural laws to our advantage. Then we can give up the controls.
'Then we can fly.'
George Knudson
Never tire of looking at this photo. Shoulder muscles transmitting the power and pressure with beautiful efficiency. Only player Hogan trusted with club testing.
Let's get in The Open mood with this fantastic clip from St. Andrews '84. Seve & Trevino (who would go on to win the next Major 3 weeks later) at their very best. Absolute magic stuff.
'Iโm a free man living in a free country. I donโt like being told where I have to play and where I canโt play. If I have to take orders as to where I can or canโt play, I suppose I might as well go to Russia.'
Ben Hogan, 1953
Superb analysis here from
@tourstriker
of George Knudson's squat & smash. Purely fuelled by weight-shift in balance. A ball-striking masterclass unspoilt by thoughts of clubface angle or plane settings on the backswing.
Still the best golfing story that never happened, played on possibly the fairest course on

rota. Pure and utter golfing skill & management at a level rarely seen. Every shot in the book. God, I wish he'd won.

'How far do you think a 3 will go here, Jackie? And I donโt mean a 3-iron.โ
13 April '86 - exactly 11 years on from '75. Incredible.
Easy to forget what a great player Arnold Palmer was. Not many would have bounced back from this.... you can tell it still hurt like hell. The man was a different class.
Let's rewind to 2014, shall we... when Mickelson (one behind) lets Rory play up on 18 to win the PGA. I say, if it was Tiger, McIlroy would have been told, ever so politely, to f**k off.
"I don't read greens, do yardages or pick clubs. He asked me to do two things. When he's not playing well, one, remind him that he's the best golfer out there. And two, that there's plenty of holes left."

What a ride.
My favourite moment of the late, great, George Knudson, who died on this day, 24 Jan 1989, age 51.
One behind on the 18th in The Masters, last day, one behind. Gotta chance.
He striped it.
