‘Green and Red of Mayo' will be sung by thousands of Mayo football fans in Times Square, New York tomorrow @ 6pm eastern at a flash mob of Mayo people organised by Portwest who have bought a huge billboard in Times Square to celebrate 10 years in business in the US.

on August 5th. The 6 lads rehearsing are Davy, Leo, Rickie on drums, Will on bass, Anto on sax and Kieran on keyboards—the same line up that played the last gig 5 years ago in Glasgow.
Pearse is Back! Pearse ‘Glackin’ Doherty, who was previously a member of The Saw Doctors from 1988 to 2002, will play bass guitar and whistles at all band shows this year. Pearse’s first gig back will be at a sold out club show in Munich on June 8th.
Greetings from Glastonbury where we will headline the Acoustic Stage tonight at 9.30pm, just after Steve Earle. The BBC cameras are not allowed film the Acoustic Stage, so there won’t be any TV highlights tonight.

We would like to sympathise with the family of our friend Gerry Mulholland aka Jarir Al-Majar who died earlier today. Among his many musical accomplishments, Gerry co-wrote the 'Green and Red of Mayo’ with Davy and Leo for our second album ‘All The Way From Tuam’. RIP.
The Saw Doctors will be featured in a new half hour TV documentary on RTE One tomorrow night Tuesday at 7pm. The TV programme will focus on the song ’N17' which was the first single released by The Saw Doctors in Ireland in January 1990.

The Saw Doctors have just got a five star review for the Galway Big Top gig from the Connacht Tribune. “Davy Carton was in astonishing voice on Friday night” says journalist Denise MCNamara. Looking forward to doing it all again tomorrow night.

The first 'West’s Awake’ concert was on this day 32 years ago, 7th Sept 91. Just like today, it was sunny and hot in the west of Ireland. Tickets were £8.50 on the day which featured Mike Scott, Hot House Flowers and the Stunning. What a Day!
