On Indigenous People’s Day I’m proud to announce my first documentary as a director. I’m so passionate about telling the stories of my people. I’m out filming now and I have an incredible team of diverse humans…
I lost my dad to suicide when I was 15. I was so mad. Hurt. Sad that he couldn’t choose life. 16 yrs later and I can talk about it with hope and love. I was taught that we can live a life for the ones that we have lost. I live for you Dad.

We need to be help get indigenous voices into the mainstream. This means indigenous journalists, lawyers, doctors, actors, politicians, storytellers. Ect. The real work of the ali is to lend your platform. Let us use it and inspire your audiences to be ours as well.

I think it’s so important for Canadians to watch. To acknowledge that these ideologies are not dead. Racism and prejudice is alive and well... and we have to find a way to rise against the hate. To heal. To change the future.

Praying for all of us who don’t ever feel safe. Who’s freedom is threatened every single day by violence.
Colonial violence.
The rapping of our bodies and the land. The destruction of our sacred sites and ancestral territories.
Praying. Praying. Preparing. For action.
Conversation starter. I often say: no one who is not indigenous can tell indigenous stories, first hand. That is truth. This does not mean the media cannot report on indigenous stories. It means they cannot report on them alone. Without consultation. Very important clarification.
I live in the green belt. My home, the land I am surrounded by, the best farmland in Ontario, is now at risk. For those of you who voted for ford, take a deep breathe this morning. Be grateful for that air, you just put it in jeopardy.
Theres an urgency within my generation to record what our elders have to say while we have them Hear their languages before they’re lost and learn the creation stories that brought us here Most Canadians don’t live with these fears and the persistent tension of loss

What is real mental health awareness? It’s knowing, on days like this, when you find out someone special has left this earth. You still have to get up on that stage and speak your truth. Truth. Because we are all in this together. So, I’ll speak truth to honour. To keep praying.
Thank you so much to the community. To all the amazing indigenous people doing incredible, revolutionary work across turtle island.
@futurehistorytv
wouldn’t be possible without all of you! 💥
So no indigenous nominations in mainstream categories

Just woke up and went for a drive to get a coffee. I turned the music way LOUD and put the fade back to balanced. (Not just in the front speakers.) best part of my week. Who knew it would be this simple.

Don’t be. Support indigenous business. Don’t fall victim to the crabs in the bucket ideology. When we target our own we are just like the colonizers. Support support support. That’s what’s up.
Today and everyday I honour the stories of my ancestors -my relatives who endured the policies implemented by this country to eliminate indigenous peoples and our culture.
