At #EIE22 and ⁦ @ehanford ⁩ answers why people keep using balanced literacy. She said, "when you believe in something, it's hard to unbelieve." I feel this is exactly the issue in #math as well - even when research shows inquiry isn't a strong approach for learning.

Here at #EIE22 with @JebBush as keynote. Really appreciate him saying that reading is the "civil rights issue of our time." I hope we start to see that #math is also a civil rights issue - every student needs the opportunity to develop essential knowledge in math!
