Visible mutants aren’t a real life marginalized identity the way queer mutants or mutants of color are but it still makes me 🤔 when an X-team doesn’t have ANY visible mutants
The joke about Charles Xavier’s school having stairs but no ramps works on two levels:
1. Unconscious ableism from the creators in not thinking about how a wheelchair user would actually live there
2. Internalized ableism because I don’t think Xavier processed his disability
Roberto: I ran a whole campaign for you to get voted onto the X-Men.
Sam: Aw, thanks?
Roberto: Also I ran an attack ad on you in Dazzler’s name implying that you’re cheating on your wife.
Sam:
Roberto: With me.
Sam Guthrie reveals he’s not defining his sexuality:
“I’m sure I’ve gotten a blowjob from a guy before. I don’t know if it’s gay unless you make eye contact… I think the best answer I have is I’m not not gay. There are a couple guys I could date, life partner-wise.”
It kills me that marvel canceled their Indigenous Voices, Black Voices, Latino Voices and AAPI Voices & then replaced them with… Spider Voices and X Voices
“Gay Wolverine” this “Gay Wolverine” that, YALL WE HAVE A GAY WOLVERINE. HIS NAME IS AKIHIRO. HES LOGAN’S SON AND HES BISEXUAL. Why don’t y’all try giving him some love
👈 still annoyed that “mutants vs machines” has been a major theme in X-comics for the past 4 years and……. none of the technopath mutants are getting to be part of it?
The Marvel Voices brand was meant to highlight marginalized creators & instead it’s used to further marginalize them. Write your favorite characters in this one-shot because we’re never giving you a mini let alone on ongoing with them
Teenagers Today don’t know queer history because GROWN ADULTS ARE ACTIVELY KEEPING IT FROM THEM. like we get the don’t say gay laws on one hand and kids discussing whether X is a slur on the other but nobody seems to connect how one is causing the other and it frustrates me
I wish marvel let their indigenous writers have Krakoa because there’s so much potential in Krakoa as a *nation* and it would be different from Krakoa as a nation-*state*

I unironically love that the Five sometimes make mistakes when resurrecting people. It feels more realistic and it’s more interesting story-wise
What kills me about the Krakoa era is that I fully believe that if the characters had agency — if Krakoa was “in real life” — I believe that a lot of A-List Mutants would have stepped down by now. And marginalized mutants — racialized & visible mutants — would have more influence
@WilhelmArnesen
I think about Reed making the F4 a public superhero team & Xavier doing the same with the X-Men SO MUCH
My theory is that mutaphobia spins off of other systemic oppression like racism/ableism, where people accept Spider-Man etc because they think he’s on “their” side
I see alphabet psychos trying to claim Magneto as a "gay icon". Have they ever even touched a comic?
Magneto has fathered multiple children and even bedded Rogue, the hottest woman in the Marvel Universe. He's about the furthest thing from a gay icon I can think of.

:
see we need Dani Moonstar on the Quiet Council BECAUSE she understands intersectionality & is firmly AGAINST mutant assimilation and she’s still working WITH THE MUTANT CHILDREN so she would be the best person to lead Krakoa
people will get so upset about a “straight” actor playing a gay character but when you want a Jewish actor to play a Jewish character those same people suddenly go “actors can ACT as ANYTHING”
If all mutants looked like Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost — that is, if all mutants appeared white, cishet, & able-bodied — mutaphobia wouldn’t exist. Anti-mutant sentiment grew out of all the other forms of systemic discrimination.
magik doesn’t like murder or knives or blood or any of those awful things you post with her she likes garfield the color pink and friends and that’s that
D*fan really had Riri asking “Did you telepathically coerce my mentor into a relationship?” and thought it was appropriate for Emma to respond like this???
Mutants are a metaphor for the marginalizations you have but they’re also a metaphor for the marginalizations you don’t have. Race and sexuality and disability and class and more.
