After WW2, around 25,000 Indian soldiers were taken as prisoners of war by the British. Savarkar came out openly in defence of these soldiers & sent a cable to the then British Prime Minister Clement Attlee on 1 Dec 1945. See attached image for exact statement. @anujdhar

Today on 13 March 1940, Udham Singh assassinated Michael O'Dwyer in London as a revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. To be noted specifically here, M. K. Gandhi observed this incidence as act of insanity & Swatantryaveer Savarkar praised to Udham Singh for his audacity.
