Emily Fisher played on an AAU team with multiple D1 commits. She knows how to play a role. “We didn’t have any roles,” Fisher said. “It was just like, everybody does everything, otherwise you’re getting out of the game.” Now, she’s thriving.

On Sunday, Lavender Briggs will be celebrated. The senior opened up to me about role-changes, the mental side of injuries and how she’s handled a 34 percent drop in usage rate. Her story is unique. “She got dealt a hard hand and she just never gave up.”

Lavender Briggs’ college career hasn’t been linear. She wants to end it how she started.

Briggs transferred to Maryland after two years at Florida and has seen a variety of roles with the Terps.

I absolutely love the Sarah Te-Biasu pickup for Maryland. Metrics are great: 1.3 ast/to ratio, strong shooter and over two steals a game. If she can get her two point shooting back to her junior year, she’s a top level PG in the B10.

Gonzaga and St. John's are chief rivals heading into the WCAC championship. That's where these twins will run against each other for the first time. My story for @WashPostHS
