Saddened to hear that Mutsumi Inomata (いのまたむつみ) has passed away. She's known for many beautiful character designs & art for the Tales of video games, and OVAs like Leda, Windaria & The Weathering Continent, but one of her first jobs was as a key animator on Urusei Yatsura.
Soichiro and Shampoo are the official mascots of the Inagaki Animal Clinic in Niigata City, Rumiko Takahashi's hometown. She did a new illustration for their sign. They've been in business since 1999 all the way to today!

It is with tremendous sadness that we share the news of Noriko Ohara's passing at 88 years old. Ohara-san was the voice of Oyuki in Urusei Yatsura, Nobita in Doraemon, Conan in Future Boy Conan, Doronjo in Yatterman and so many other iconic roles.

On November 13, 1996, Inuyasha debuted in Shonen Sunday Vol. 50. A scant 27 years later and it remains Takahashi-sensei's longest work to date and one of her most recognized and well-loved.

Very saddened to share the news that seiyuu Taiki Matsuno (松野太紀) has passed away from a cerebral hemmorage at 56 years old. Matsuno is best known as for voicing Koga in Inuyasha & Hajime Kindaichi in Kindaichi Case Files as well as Agumon in Digimon, & Trebol in One Piece.

In our Ranma anime post the other day there was some discussion about female Ranma's hair color and how it was depicted in the anime. Was (manga) female Ranma ever depicted with red hair before the anime debuted or did the anime establish red-headed female Ranma?
