We have another Longevity Test update!
Last week we reported a line of dead green sub-pixels on our Sony A80K but the problem has worsened since then. Now there is a perpetually lit blue column visible on the TV and it shuts down shortly after booting.

We're buying the new TVs as soon as they are available and the 55" Samsung QN85A we purchased is the first TV to arrive at the office!
We'll start testing right away so stay tuned for the full review in a couple weeks!

You asked, and we heard you loud and clear! We purchased the 55"

New TV Review: Samsung S95B QD-OLED
One of the most anticipated TV reviews of the year is here!
Check out the full review and let us know what you think.
We've been busy investigating the early results of our Longevity Test. We've also been listening to all of your feedback and suggestions too!
So we've added three monitors to our Longevity Test!
- LG 27GR95QE-B
- Samsung Odyssey OLED G8/G85SB S34BG85
- Dell Alienware AW3423DWF
We've got our first TV Longevity Test update!
If you want to see the data for certain products, you can see it in their individual reviews, or you can see the master list with clickable links here:
We've received some questions about the information revealed by
@HardwareUnboxed
.
For anyone worried about our reviews, remember that we buy all of the products we test from retailers once they're available & we will never accept review units or review conditions from brands!
LG demanded editing rights over a review, offered to "compensate" us for the privilege, and admitted this was a plan to stop bad reviews because they hurt sales.
This conduct is disgraceful, unethical, unacceptable and today we are exposing them:
New Speaker Review:
@Alpine4u
QLP542SLR-GR
This speaker has an exceptionally long-lasting battery life and it comes with a solar panel on top for charging.
Unfortunately, its sound profile is quite uneven & it struggles to reproduce a thumpy low-bass.
Today,
@SonyElectronics
released a firmware update for the X900H, v6.0414, that apparently fixes the 4k
@120Hz
bug. We'll be retesting our unit as soon as possible, possibly today even, and we'll post an update to our review, and to our social channels, with our findings.
Now with a stand in some sizes and regions, and with MLA on all sizes up to 83", the LG G4 OLED is a truly spectacular OLED TV. It's without a doubt one of the best TVs you can buy in 2024. Find out how it compares:
New Monitor Review:
@ASUS
TUF Gaming VG27AQ. An impressive 1440p gaming monitor with excellent ergonomics, a remarkably fast response time, and outstanding low input lag. Unfortunately, like most IPS monitors it doesn't look as good in a dark room.
We've seen some interesting results so far in our Longeivty Test!
We ran the main pixel compensation cycle on the Samsung S95B. This had to be done manually, but should now be automatic after somewhere between 2000-2400 hours of use.
Here are the 5% gray slides before & after.
New TV Review:
@Sony
A90J OLED
Our readers were massively interested to see how this TV performs. Overall, it's an amazing 4k TV. How amazing? Check out our review to find out!
What do you think? Is this your next TV?
Well, what do we have here?
It looks like the Xbox headset we bought is ready to be tested!
While we work on that, what's the best headset you've used?
UPDATE:
@SonyElectronics
has given us a formal response to the question about VRR & ALLM on the X900H.
They are confirming that the support page update was an error & they will still be supporting VRR & ALLM via future firmware updates.
We just received the
@Sony
Z9F we bought. Look for the full review and detailed measurements in the coming weeks. Let us know what you'd like us to buy and test next here:
The highly anticipated
@LGUS
CX review is finally up! Like all OLED TVs we've tested, it delivers outstanding picture quality, but is it worth getting over the C9? Check it out:
New TV Review:
@TCL_USA
6 Series (R615/R617). Very good 4k TV with some improvements over last year's P Series such as black frame insertion and motion interpolation.
We're excited to share that we've updated our testing methodology for TVs!
This update mainly focuses on more in depth Game mode testing & advanced console compatibility tests.
Please keep the feedback coming!
You can read about the changes here:
We know you're all patiently waiting for new reviews; we'll do our best to get them out as quickly as possible, while still respecting all health and safety recommendations. We'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for their patience during this shutdown. Stay safe! (2/2)
We received the parts we needed for the Samsung S95B and Pascal has repaired it! Our unit had a faulty power supply.
Now that it's repaired, we've added it back to our 100 TV Longevity Test!
We've just put out our video review of the LG C4 OLED, the 2024 iteration in LG's popular C Series lineup! Find out if the newest model is worth it, or if it's just more of the same from last year's C3!
New Monitor Review:
@GIGABYTEUSA
G32QC. A great 1440p VA monitor with deep blacks, great peak brightness, and a great response time. Unfortunately, dark-scene transitions are quite slow, causing noticeable motion smearing.
We've had another TV fail in our Longevity Test!
This time it is the Samsung QN900A. Upon further inspection, it appears at this time that a power supply failure is the issue. We've order some replacement parts and will update you once we have more information!
