After a fortnight break, the ONS today released the wk 50 & 51 deaths figures, & we are now breaking all kinds of records. Excess deaths for England & Wales in wk51 was a fraction under 3,000 & 25.8% above the 2015-19 avg. Over the past 6mths the avg excess deaths is 15% per wk.

3/6 I have had to use the 2020 population census data to run my own tables (as at end of May) for 18yrs & over and run relevant percentages for different categories of 🥕 & corresponding deaths. The next release is due towards Oct-end so hopefully I'll be able to update this soon

4/6 that this phenomenon is happening across the approximate 70 million population, then we are talking about around 20,000 extra per week developing long-term sickness. Since 2020 an extra 400,000 workforce participants have left the workforce on long-term sick leave.
