A player last week drove from FB practice to my place to hit for an hour. During the last 15 minutes he hit w/ his earbuds in so he could listen to his special teams meeting. He never complains. Saying this b/c in a time of ‘kids need to be tougher,’ the tough kids still exist.

For the life of me I will never understand baseball players not playing baseball the Summer before they show up on campus as an 18yr old to compete against 21-24yr olds that played all Summer long in collegiate leagues. I have yet to hear a good reason why.

Fantastic cue for those that pull the front shoulder out instead of rearward. The arm out front forces the turn to move back because that lead arm is usually the culprit of the front shoulder pulling out. Love this.

If coach is trying to get everyone on the team to hit exactly the same...RUN AWAY. Cookie cutter teaching never works. We come in all shapes/sizes as well as different emotionally/mentally. Great hitters get into the same important positions but get there in different ways.

The most inhibiting parent is the one that knows just enough to be dangerous + hovers. They bleed their kid of passion & slow down the speed at which they progress. It is one of the hardest things to watch with sports...sadly it seems to be getting more common.

@TreadAthletics Out of HS, he had a present above avg FB with a future 80 grade. Early years with the Cubs, he averaged 93mph. So velocity STILL got him in the door. That remains the most important factor. He became a legend because of his command, movement, and cerebral approach to the game,

Parents, if you're worried about playing time b/c your kid doesn’t do lessons w/ the coach then it is time to re-think where your kid plays. Youth levels are riddled w/ this nonsense-no wonder why kids stop playing b/c of the desire to play rather than lack of skill. @DBAT_Elite
