Nothing that happened this week mattered.
Greg Popovich and Steve Kerr are two of the worst individuals when it comes to their entitled conception that what they say really matters or weighs as much as they think it does. Constantly acting like their opinion is gospel.
▪️Vermont averaged 72 points a game. Duke held them to 47.
▪️JMU averaged 84 points a game. Duke held them to 55.
▪️Houston averaged 73 points a game. Duke held them to 51.
Put some respect on that defensive effort!
Not an ideal ending for Duke, but Jon Scheyer’s inaugural season at Duke ends at 27-9.
Two crazy stats about this year that will stick with fans for awhile:
— Duke finished undefeated on the season with a full/healthy roster
— Duke went undefeated at home
Bright future tho! 😈
Marshall Plumlee is now attending Harvard Business School as part of their 2024 class.
Played for Duke while in ROTC. Joined the NY National Guard while playing for the Knicks. Graduated Ranger School and joined the Army Rangers.
A legend and inspiration in every sense.
Nothing unites the world like a
#Duke
loss. Literally nothing. It also brings out the absolute worst in people. The toxicity is obnoxious.
For Duke fans: it’s a painful loss, yes, but the legacy remains, and the standard that is Duke remains. The sun will rise in the morning.
I stopped “worrying” about this
@DukeMBB
team once it came out that
@whoisAG21
was leading bible study, and the whole squad decided to voluntarily join him.
That’s special. Win or lose, this team has been special. The Last Ride has been special.

Nobody will remember:
- your salary
- how "busy you were"
- how many hours you worked
People will remember:
Duke beating the living hell out of Kentucky by 34 points ✔️🔥
NCAA Tournament records so far:
ACC: 8-1
Big Ten: 6-3
Big 12: 6-6
PAC-12: 6-3
Big East: 5-0
SEC: 4-5
1/4 of the

teams are from the ACC. Same shit, different year. The ACC’s “downfall” is something.
31 years ago yesterday... Duke ended UNLV's 45-game winning streak and search for perfection.
"DUKE HAS DONE IT! DUKE HAS UPSET UNLV..."
UNLV dynasty? Nah. DUKE DESTINY!!

The “Duke basketball wasn’t anything before Coach K” is probably the laziest and most casual of takes you can have.
Pre-Coach K stats:
NCAAT Runner-up - 1964, 1978
NCAAT Final Four - 1963, 1964, 1966, 1978
NCAAT Elite 8 - 1960, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1978, 1980
11-time ACC Champs
Joe Lunardi in a nutshell:
5 hours ago, Duke had lost and he had them at 10. Alabama was at 9. Within the last 5 hours Alabama had lost by 22. He still has Alabama at 9, and he dropped Duke to 12.
He’s so bad at his job and everybody needs to continue to call it out.
Every single person in this audio of

on opening night in LA, was ready to run through a brick wall to kick Thanos’ ass.
AVENGERS! ASSEMBLE!
The NCAA has officially required Stephen F Austin’s men’s basketball program to forfeit 117 victories from 2014-2019, in accordance APR sanctions.
That means, per the record books, the win versus
#Duke
on 11/26/2019 never happened.
Arguably the biggest “What if?” in NCAA men’s basketball history… back-to-back Natty’s guaranteed for Duke & Co. if Kyrie never got hurt.
The chemistry was off once he returned.
Here’s some raw emotion for the folks that think one-and-dones don’t care. It’s been a pleasure to watch this team play. My favorite team since 2001.

UNC, fresh off Nat’l Championship game appearance…
— returned 4/5 starters
— 1-8 in Q1 games
— 13 losses
— 7th place in ACC
— most losses by any Preseason
#1
in history
— first ever Preseason
#1
team to miss NCAAT
— swept by Duke
Biggest flop of a season ever? Poetic justice.
Duke is out here having former rotational players making NBA rosters.
UNC is out here having former All-Americans, All-ACC, etc. flipping burgers in Europe.
Per

Here’s something that 99% of non-Duke fans refuse to accept:
Under Coach K, Duke was the gold standard.
Former UNC players (Kenny Smith) have mentioned Duke being the standard. Even Hubert Davis alluded to relevance comparative in the rivalry immediately after the game.
Just a friendly reminder that on February 8th, 2020,
#Duke
was down by 13 to North Carolina in the Dean Dome, with 4:16 left in regulation. Vernon Carey Jr. had just fouled out. The Blue Devils had a 1.3% chance of winning.
Then it happened. Mind-boggling turnaround.
Duke wins the ACC Championship. Duke wins the ACC regular season, to finally appease the haters. Duke wins the National Championship, to send Coach K off into the sunset.
Happy Birthday to the cold-blooded assassin known as
@jj_redick
!!!
Flashback to when he dropped 41 points as No. 1 Duke beat No. 2 Texas 97-66. JJ hit nine treys that game. En fuegooo 👌🏼🔥😈 (via

I’m going to try to be as vividly clear about this as I can…
If you use “Dook” instead of “Duke”, your opinion is immediately invalidated and you may continue eating chalk for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Regardless of what happens in Chapel Hill this weekend, Coach K will retire with a winning record versus UNC, and the same amount of NCAA titles as Dean & Roy combined.
I find it rich that people are still talking about Coach K’s succession plan for
#Duke
, and how it was the wrong move, when Dean Smith left UNC a week before practice started in the fall of 1997.
Unless you’re too casual (most of you) to remember that (likely), of course?
Last one of the year. Over Armando Bacot’s 5-year career, his teams went:
29-8
20-13
29-10
18-11
14-19
The .643% (110-61 record) is the lowest winning percentage in a 5-year stretch for that program since 1999-2004 with Guthridge/Doherty/Williams, and before that 1950-1955.

-1st ever freshman duo to both average 20+ ppg

-captivated a nation
Season didn’t end the way we wanted it to but there will be a time when we sit back & appreciate it.

Underestimating and backing Coach K and

into a corner is one of the worst things you can generally do.
Just remember, “Duke is never the underdog!” 🔵😈

Coach K on
#Duke
facing adversity last night:
“They will have a lot of adversity with me because they didn’t listen to me. So they’re in trouble with me and that’s the main adversity that they have, because it’s stupid not to listen. I’ve warned them for two days about it.”
The 2018 comeback on

Sans the 2019 ACCT Semifinal, this game had it all. What a squad!
