STOP messaging HR/others like this! 95% of people will not respond. It’s generic & obviously a LinkedIn prompt.
Here’s how to message recruiters & others to actually impress, gain a referral, and more.
If you’re applying for remote jobs, you'll probably be asked:
"Why do you want to work remotely?"
It might be tempting to gush about skipping the commute and achieving better work-life balance. But instead, focus on what the employer cares about!
Here’s how to approach it:
Every rejection is a redirection.
I applied for a remote role at a NZ company on 15/04, was rejected on 16/04, but on 17/04 they asked if I’d consider their other PT role.
Sat for the IV on 24/04 & received an offer within 24h. If only all hiring processes were this efficient!

Best to apply on their website! Most GLCs/MNCs have a vacancies page, they don’t need to rely on job boards as much as SME.
Just google a list of MNCs and stalk. This is a good thread to start:

When should you take a full-time Masters?
1. When you’re financially able
2. When you’d like to transition to academia
3. When you’d like to gain expertise & enhance your theoretical knowledge
When *shouldn’t* you take a Masters?

This is exactly what I mean when I say that your follow-up email after an interview needs to be in-depth! It shouldn't just be a normal inquiry email!
It's the perfect way to impress the recruiter. A thread:
Setiap kali interview, saya akan perhatikan gerak geri interviewer.

Very glad more students are utilising ATS-friendly CVs! As they should👏🏻
ATS = Applicant Tracking System. Yes, recruiters don’t read your CVs. ATS sifts them first.
General rule: avoid having complex CVs with icons/skill bars, optimise space in your CV, and add keywords!
As a CV reviewer, the biggest mistake I see on young people's CVs is the lack of proof of skills.
You MUST include relevant experiences and show your impact, or even create a portfolio.
If you lack them, take a certification to provide tangible proof — many are free!
Ada banyak sites yg can assess your CV for ATS-friendliness. Tapi different companies use different ATS, so try google a few & update your CV with all of their suggestions.
Personally I like this one sbb its quick and free.

Agreed! If the company is legit, take the interview even if you don’t want the job because:
1. The role could surprise you
2. A chance to improve your iv skills
3. A chance to network with the recruiter + Hiring Manager
4. A chance to learn the salary rate & competitors
Ada anak muda dapat IV dgn well established GLC.

Nasihat:
Pergi IV.
Ini IV only ie "pergi dating, bukan suruh nikah".
Masa IV find out more.
If dapat offer, baru fikir nak accept atau tidak.
I've spoken to recruiters on this - yes, they do!
I only recommend including an expected salary in your CV if you're firm on that as a base salary.
If the JD asks for expected salary, you can provide a range and mention that you will consider benefits. Example text below.
Be honest with me, do recruiters look at the desired salary and decide if they want to move forward with the application?
If they do, what should I put then?? 🥹

Things to bring to Career Fairs:
1. CV/Resume (Many copies - they may not have printer there)

3. Recommended but not required - academic transcript, RELEVANT certificates. No need copies, keep in 1 folder.
4. (If ada) - print out portfolio & clip to CV
Never give up on working at your dream company.
If you search 'interviewed at Google/Meta/[insert Fortune 500 company here]', you'll find that many of their employees applied 2, 3, 4, 5 times before securing an offer. It's normal, and nothing to be ashamed of.
Companies never-
1. It’s never too late to switch jobs. EVER.
2. That said, you have to dedicate time & energy to change careers. If you’re willing to spend at least 10h/a week upskilling, editing your CV, etc. read on.
Jobseekers, I BEG you, stop putting your full address on your CV! Especially if you’re a woman! This is very unsafe & unnecessary. 🥲
At best, just keep the general area e.g. Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Recruiters do NOT need your home address.
“If you leave during probation, it looks bad on your CV” 💀 NO!
Firstly, you don’t even NEED to put it on your CV!
Secondly - not all roles suit everyone! That’s why probations exist. Not just to suit the employer, but to allow new employees to decide! Reclaim your rights pls.
Usually it’ll take up to 6 weeks to hear back from applications, but considering you’re still working, no need to panic. Just try your best to follow up. Most ppl secure jobs after a few months of job search.
If you’re applying to more roles, try to tailor your CV to the role!

#TIL
that 'ghost jobs' are a real thing in today’s job market??
A staggering 81% of recruiters admit their companies post job openings that don’t actually exist or have already been filled.
If you're a job seeker, remember that your network is your greatest asset!
People can't help you if they don't know you need it. And job opportunities through referrals can be a game-changer.
