1. Content is more important. No CV template helps secure the job, just the iv. No need bayar for templates, just do on Words/GDoc. 2. Structure/format bawah passes ATS + more easily assessed by HR. I’ve confirmed 1&2 with many HR. Explaining what colours mean below.

Jobseekers, I BEG you, stop putting your full address on your CV! Especially if you’re a woman! This is very unsafe & unnecessary. 🥲 At best, just keep the general area e.g. Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Recruiters do NOT need your home address.

“If you leave during probation, it looks bad on your CV” 💀 NO! Firstly, you don’t even NEED to put it on your CV! Secondly - not all roles suit everyone! That’s why probations exist. Not just to suit the employer, but to allow new employees to decide! Reclaim your rights pls.

Usually it’ll take up to 6 weeks to hear back from applications, but considering you’re still working, no need to panic. Just try your best to follow up. Most ppl secure jobs after a few months of job search. If you’re applying to more roles, try to tailor your CV to the role!

If networking makes you anxious, or you're an introvert job hunting, remember this: Prioritise quality over quantity. Instead of trying to speak to everyone, focus on having a few meaningful conversations. One great connection can be more valuable than a dozen shallow ones!

To all young people, please go for the jobscope yg you mmg minat, especially if it aligns with your degree. Distance is a challenge that you must overcome (stakat boleh). Cari housemates and share flat OR bangun awal & commute if its safe. Your 1st job matters! Choose wisely.

To all Malaysians - STOP signing up to on-site events if you're not going to commit. 150pax signed up for a free CV workshop so they closed registration. Only 25 turned up! If you book something & don't turn up, you are DEPRIVING OTHER JOBSEEKERS of the opportunity. Do better!

1. If dah apply 100+ in your field and no IV, your CV is probably the issue. Get it reviewed by a senior or professionally 2. If belum apply @ Career Fairs, make the effort to go, network & submit! 3. Consider & google [company] protege programme, not just entry level. Good luck!

The term resume & CV are used interchangably in MY. But generally: Resume - for work, max 2 pages (unless extensive experience). For fresh grad, mmg submit a resume. I’ll share below. CV - usually for niche fields/healthcare/academia. No page limit. Usually for professionals.
