It’s been 4 weeks today since my Mom’s aneurysm. The doctor was saying the other day that the type of rupture that she had, only 10% of people survive from it. Not only did she survive but she’s crushing her therapy right now. My mom is so strong ♥️

A year ago today, my mom suffered what should have been a fatal ruptured brain aneurysm. There’s only a 10% survival rate. To see her those first few days, weeks, it’s amazing to look at her now, listen to her, you’d never know it happened. She’s a miracle

My mom had a good night. She’s able to move all of her extremities, was able to give a thumbs up to the nurses. Still waiting for the results of her CT scan to see if any residual bleeding happened but I’m feeling more positive for her

For the first time in a month, my mom got to eat on her own tonight. She had swiss steak, mashed potatoes, oranges & nectar & she ate it ALL. She sounded so happy that she was able to accomplish that & I am, too. Another big step in her recovery

Just got a great update. Mom seems to remember who my Dad is. She had her eyes open, was looking right at him & would nod when he was talking, she also squeezed his hand. She’s also able to lift her arms to a 4 count now

Ventilator is coming out this afternoon. Doctors are very encouraged by everything they’re seeing, how the brain is healing. Mom was also able to write a word on her own, in cursive. She seems to know exactly what’s going on cognitively

My mom has been home 4 weeks today. She’s able to walk so well that she hasn’t used her walker in 3.5 weeks. She’s fully there cognitively. She’s had no trouble at all eating any of her food. To think of where she was & where she is now, miracle

Neurologist was just in, Mom was able to answer basic questions about her life. Only thing she got wrong was the name of the hospital, so the neurologist is pleased with what he heard

My Dad is stable but they’re going to put him in the ICU w/ an Insulin Drip. All of his organs are ok but since his sugar was so high, that’s why they’re putting him in there. I’m so thankful we got him here today or it could have been much worse

Slept the best I’ve slept in a week, my body really needed it. Mom is starting to breathe more on her own, even outside the help of the ventilator. So I’m really hoping she’s able to have that taken off tomorrow

Around 10 last night mom had to have a procedure where they drill a little bit into her brain to remove fluid buildup. The doctor said that’s common in a surgery like she had. That went well. She’s going to be resting all day
