I received a call from Anelle Miller at the Society of Illustrators that stopped me in my tracks and I had take a seat on my stairs. Anelle told me that I had been awarded the Hamilton King Award for my piece “Finishing Touches."

Last week Microsoft announced an upcoming background removal feature in PAINT. The image they demonstrated this new feature with was “Flight” artwork that I created as a screensaver for the release of Windows 7 nearly 15 years ago.

In the world of tiny things, folks can get obsessed with realism. I try to embrace how I was taught to paint. Letting the brush leave it’s mark. Heck this guy ended up with my thumb print on his nose. Seeing the Impressionism in the details always excites me.

Preferring the singular simplicity of a unicycle, Tipsy tends to lean toward action before thought, teetering between danger and exhilaration. Tipsy is one of the characters in "Over, Under and Beyond” permanently on display at @HancockLibrary here in Greenfield, Indiana.
