Who is the greatest footballer ever? The most common answer is Messi, Pele and Maradona. But it is almost impossible to judge players from different eras. You can differentiate them by skillsets. With all due respect to Messi, and Pele they never scored all these type of goals.

Statistics don’t fully explain the greatness of Maradona compared to Messi and Pele. But what he did with the ball, no one else was cable of doing it before or since. This is such a goal but really don’t understand why this is so underrated!

At the peak of his game, Maradona was unstoppable. He could go past one, two, or three defenders at ease thanks to his repertoire of deception, his ability to use dramatic changes in speed, surprising spins, and the ball as bait. This is such a goal!

Most people remember Maradona’s lob from the midfield that hit the post against Uruguay in the 1989 Copa America. But how many remember this one when he robbed the ball from the defender with his weaker right foot and clipped the ball immaculately, only to be saved by the keeper?

Maradona was a genetic miracle. His neuromuscular coordination had a cosmic power. Almost unthinkable ability control his body in time and space, defying gravity. He could take two steps in a row with the same foot and the ball at maximum speed. See the miracle at 0.06.

Best dribblers know when to release and pass the ball to a team-mate — they draw players to them by dribbling, and then release it to a team-mate in space. This dribble and assist by Maradona is perhaps the greatest example of it at the very highest level.
