We now know the Government and NGOs "greviously misled" the public. The Attorney General confirms "child care, immigration and social welfare" law will be impacted.
Taoiseach says "wealthy" Ireland can afford to give away €225m a year by 2025. The 228,301 who rang SVP last year looking for help might disagree

As the Taoiseach finally accepts there's no room for migrants it's shameful communities are being scapegoated for the immigration fiasco his government created
Drogheda people wanted tourists but the Government gave them over 400 migrants with possibly 500 more on the way to join the couple of thouand already there. To say the locals are angry doesn't cover it, the outrage is off the scale.
Irish taxpayers mauled by the dogs of war. Over €800k blown on Ukrainian's pets as a young people's counselling service faces closure over lack of state funding...
To celebrate International Women's Day the Government want the words "mothers" & "women" removed from the Constitution. Proof, if needed, that the State has always hated women.
Officials warned Government it might be "impossible" to control immigration if the referendums were passed. Now ministers expect the public to believe the Migration Pact won't have similar consequences.
Will Ireland join Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and
Bangladesh and become the first EU state to recognise polygamy? The Goverment can't rule it out if the referendums are passed.
We have ways of ways of making you not talk. Criticism of the Government's emigration policies could faul foul of of the porposed restrictive hate speech laws....
Minister who invited asylum seekers here (in different languages) with promise of free housing concerned 1,000 asylum seekers have no free accommodation via

Micheal Martin resorting to disease terminology against the Shinners is a new low. The truth is young people are more disaffected with Fianna Fail than they are “infected” by Sinn Fein...
Elderly and sick to be turfed out of nursing homes to free beds for asylum seekers. Satire really is dead. How could Waterford Whispers compete with that?
PetGate goes from bad to worse. State stopped quarantining Ukraine pets as officials 'couldn't handle' influx exposing the country to infectious diseases
It took the equivalent of nearly 14,000 licence fees (and a bit of false accounting) to cover losses of the disastrous Toy Show Musical yet no one has been held to account or even named.
Brendan Gleeson's claims that Ireland is "basically America now" and should strive to double its population is a bigger fantasy than a Harry Potter movie.
Why is one of the world's most corrupt countries shocked its natonal broadcaster is embroiled in a financial scandal? There are few organisations in the State that haven't been.
Goodbye mother, it was nice knowing you. The Chair of the Electoral Commission confirms the word "mother" will be deleted from the Constitution if the referendums are passed on March 8. via

'Reflects who we are' - Tanaiste. No it reflects a Government squandering taxpayers money on foreign cats & dogs while refusing to adequately fund childcare
More empty talk from arch-spoofer Simon Harris. Every worker is paying USC because of the rogue banks and now the Goverment is looking on as they screw us again

What a f***** up country. Gardai desperately need a naval vessel for a maritime drugs search but the only one available is taking part in St Pats day celebrations in Dun Laoghaire.

Stephen Donnelly said I was a hero working at vaccine centre - now I'm homeless and living in my car'
With nowhere else left to turn to Lauren emailed Stephen Donnelly three months ago explaining her situation and pleading for help
I dunno. On a personal level, fair play to someone getting a well paid job. But I really don’t like the idea of a hack going from holding ministers to account to defending them.
I’m sure other hacks will disagree with me, but that’s my opinion.
And I know some hacks do agree.
It’s a perverse country that won't "adequately" fund its health service but will spend more on asylum seekers than on its barely-functioning Defence Forces...
I see that Michael Mc Dowell has his 4th opinion piece in the Irish Times in as many weeks. Very strange….So much for the absence of bias in the paper of record… No one else in the country able to write an opinion piece??
@IrishTimes
As someone who has worked as a news editor for nearly 20 years I know anyone can got hoaxed. What I can't understand is why the IT published such absolute nonsense, which the hoaxer now admits was to "stir the s***".

It is, or was, a great town and the gateway to the Boyne Valley and the world heritage site at Newgrange. But I must admit, who will want to go there now.
Minister for Public Expenditure Paschal Donohoe has said Ireland is now one of the largest net contributors per capita to the EU budget and hinted that the contribution will grow
@helerina
Tell me about it, Hélène. Not long ago I was branded far left and even a communist (I'm a socialist and a trade unionist) but also a realist. I'm getting disorientated with all this political shapeshifting
@NWoulfeWriter
Thanks Nuala. I spent many happy hours in the D. We once held the Mirror's Christmas party there and the Mirror's former editor John Kierans had his book launch there. Not any more, it's closure is an absolute outrage.
“It’s understandable from Ryanair’s perspective”

that there’s a long tradition of companies like Ryanair buying houses for staff after the airline bought most of the homes in a new estate close to Dublin Airport.

Six months ago those who said Ireland can't take any more refugees and asylum seekers were branded right wing extremists. It has obvously become an election issue when the Taoiseach agrees...
