Have u seen more hilarious discrimination than this? In a society I visited in Mumbai, the ultra-rich discriminate against the super-rich. Residents of tower T1 don't mix with those in other towers. T1 flats cost 12Cr while others cost 8Cr. I don't even belong in their universe!

Which is the longest train journey you have been on? In 2003 I travelled from Chennai to Guwahati in a train journey that lasted 52 hours (ordinary sleeper). It was an incredible experience. Yes, the return was in the same train as well.

TIL Bombil fish is called Bombay Duck because it was transported from Bombay to Calcutta in Daak (Mail) trains. The letters would smell of fish & Bengalis would say, "the letters have come with Bombay Daak". The British then mispronounced the fish as Bombay Duck. Hence the name.

@asidhu_ The fact that Patiala has high AQI suggests that paddy burning is causing pollution in Punjab. Delhi is towards the southeast & by the time the wind from Punjab reaches Delhi it also picks up the smoke from the fields of Haryana. This added to vehicular pollution makes it worse.

Remembering Dad 1/n My dad, a retired Army officer, never showed any interest in traveling, within India or abroad. His passport was a book with blank pages. The only trip abroad he went on was a secret IPKF mission to Sri Lanka, which I figured out by putting two & two together.

Morning rant. I've seen enough nasty people prosper & enough good people suffer to not believe in Karma anymore. "Bhagwaan sab dekh raha hai" is a fallacy. "Agla janam" is a hoax". It's a dog-eat-dog world. Do good without expecting any rewards, be bad without fearing punishment.

I miss the times when I could change the ordinary tubelight on my own. Nowadays, to change the LED tubelight I have to call the electrician. Is there a way around this?

Two types of people exist - People who first soap all the dishes and then rinse them one by one, and people like me who soap and rinse one dish at a time. I can never get myself to do it any other way. What type are you? Is there a right sequence to washing dishes?
