Am amused how Dhanush gets to play mostly lower-caste characters in Tamil cinema. But in Hindi, he gets to repeatedly play the Brahmin. Or is it possible that Hindi audience think that everyone from TN is by default The Hindu reading, filter kaapi sipping Iyer/Iyengar vaal. 😕

I find it boring to outrage about Samantha's brown face in 'Family Man 2'. What I would rather outrage about is how her 'brown face' was so fucking inconsistent in the series. It changes from very dark to patchy dark to brownish yellow to turmeric yellow to just plain fair. (1/2)

Interestingly, all those who were aggressively supporting actor Siddharth and defending his half-baked politics saying that he shouldn't be critiqued just because he is a Brahmin seem to have gone to deep slumber in the case of Chetan Kumar.

Also, it is about time we recognise that the Tamil society has become a post-caste society. Once there were Brahmins and non-brahmins here. Then there were Dalits and non-Dalits. But today, there are just Sanghis and non- Sanghis. (1/3)

'Jai Bhim' does have serious flaws - in how it deliberately prolongs the torture scenes & how that works against humanizing the Irular community. But in spite of the flaws, its attempt to instill hope in the Constitution does justify its title. For IE.
