I complete my Masters degree in two weeks. I became a mom at 15. I remember how hard I worked to get my Associates degree. Working full-time & going to school full-time. It feels so amazing to accomplish this & all of the things I’ve done in 12 years.

My sister left Walmart to join the military. She worked there for 4 years. She just stopped getting paid from Walmart. It’s been 11 years. Walmart had a stipend for military members. She got paid biweekly for 11 years.

2022 I surpassed 200k in income working in tech. I switched jobs once & maintained another for a while. Thursday is my last day in corporate. I walk out now owning almost 17 acres of land, a newly built investment home & my child’s private school tuition. I’m at peace.

I can openly admit (and most know this) that a lot of recruiting processes are broken, filled with bias, and sometimes lead by racist YT women. BUT there’s a whole Black, Brown & LGBTQ+ recruiting community on here that is dedicated to being transparent & ultimately helping.

Resumes are not meant to be cute unless MAYBE you’re in a design role, but even then your portfolio speaks to your skills. Basic, simple and traditional does the job. You don’t need to go to canva or purchase a template from Etsy.
