Best way to gain someone’s trust is honestly admitting when you DON’T know something. It’s *impossible* to have all the answers. Researchers, extensionists, professors, graduate students, etc - don’t try to sell yourself that way. That’s not how science works.

✨Fun fact for today✨ Youth programs were key to farmer adoption of early Extension programs. Corn clubs & contests were a BIG deal. In 1912, a boy in Virginia grew 209 bushels on an acre when the national average was 45 bu/ac! 🌽 What did those plants look like? 🤔

It happened. First 2022 tiller sightings #TillerQueen 😎 V4-5 corn at mid-20K pop with a surprising tiller presence. We’ll see if the plants keep them around. Showing up this early seems to give them a better chance of making it further in the season. 🌽
