finally got a copy of the revised tgcf novels and skimmed book 4 and the fenglian friend breakup hurts so much more in the revised version... fx's line abt "then why have i followed you all this time" is removed & instead xl says "i don't need you anymore, you should go."

he can change the world just bc he’s the prince, not bc he wants to condescendingly be a savior/martyr, but for no other reason than that he cares, that he feels empathy & wants to alleviate suffering. in fact sometimes he's one of the only characters who care enough to do smth

like fx doesn't even say anything about not following anymore and xl just straight away says: XL: "You should go." FX: "What?" XL: "I said, I don't need you anymore, you should go." it's much more obvious that fx only left bc xl literally dismissed him as an attendant😭
