Alright fellow Utahn’s here’s my updated Utah Battleground Financial Sheet. I added two races HD09 and SD26 and dropped Council Seat 4 as it should be safely Blue.
IMO right now Natalie Pinkney, Katie Olson and Aaron Wiley need money the most right now
U.S. Rep. Colin Allred and the Texas Democratic Party are launching a coordinated campaign to consolidate resources for races up and down the ticket, the party and Allred campaign announced Wednesday morning.
This is a painful story that so many families around America now know too well: Amanda was denied the medical care she needed, and it nearly took her life.
More than 1 in 3 women in America now lives under an abortion ban, with more on the way.
Donald Trump did this.
Here's the spot, titled "For You" --
Joe Biden in navy blue Polo quarter zip to camera:
"Look, I'm not a young guy. That's no secret. But, here's the deal. I understand how to get things done for the American people"
RFK Jr. announced earlier today that his campaign has gathered more than enough signatures to gain ballot access in Texas. Texas requires at least 130,000 signatures from independent candidates.
“We already have over 200,000,” Kennedy said.
$700m in ads from Biden, they’ll run sharply on Democracy and Dobbs and earlier than Obama. Hundreds of staffers set to be hired through April across the battlegrounds
@schlagteslinks
My dad saw her speech and was totally fine with her. He thinks she’s down to earth and understand normal people like he felt with Biden. He was just nervous at first because he just didn’t really know her
Idk if people quite grasp what a D+5 House vote could be like under the maps we have now or what that means for other downballot races.
Senate wise though, this starts to get more interesting.
Update: As we finish tonight, the Current WA Primary Congressional Results stand at D+16.7%, which points to a very rough D+4.7% National Environment.
This is a 0.1% improvement for Dems from yesterday
A LOT of new reporting here about the dire straits the Trump campaign is in.
-Less than FIVE staffers in each battleground state
-They can't afford to hire staff until the SUMMER
-GOP staffers TRASHING the 2024 campaign
….a few days ago they said this would bring in around $10m. $25m is roughly another battleground ad campaign. It’s more than Trump brought in last month In one night!
🚨 CNN: "Erin Burnett will sit down with President Biden for an exclusive one on one interview tomorrow. ... Interview will air Wednesday at 7pm ET on Erin Burnett OutFront."
Mitt Romney, and I never ever thought I’d say this, delivered more funds for our state in 6 years than most of our Federal Reps have in decades. The efforts he did for the Tribal areas is supremely commendable.
He still voted GOP 90% of the time, he just didn’t join your cult
The irony of
@MittRomney
condemning someone for being an imposter on the campaign trail is quite interesting.
Mitt Promised:
Represent Utah BUT held no town halls and worked against
@BasedMikeLee
and rest of Utah delegation
Budget Hawk BUT voted for every budget buster

Huh Tester yesterday launched Republicans for Tester with a quite a few notable state officials like former Gov Racicot, former SOS Bob Brown, and a former MTGOP chair
Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) can't veto this since it's a ballot measure, so it would be up to voters to reject it.
But Arizona Dems need to flip just two swing seats in each legislative chamber this fall to win majorities & start expanding voting access
What exactly is the supposed secret sauce that is going to get people who didn’t vote the last 3 elections to turn out for Trump? He couldn’t get them in 2020 why would they now
“.. Asked whether he's facing heat from his colleagues, Buck told
@Axios

Biden's most aggressive push yet to court Republican Nikki Haley's primary voters has launched in Arizona and seven other swing states with a new digital ad.
Axios: Biden campaign opening 10 field offices in North Carolina
"It's not clear where or when the Trump team will open field offices throughout North Carolina."
Stop acting like life in America in 2024 is unbearable. Biden’s ratings are in the toilet not because he’s doing a bad job but because many Americans like living with their head in the toilet.
This is my absolute biggest worry. People on here mostly get it that’s gotta be Kamala well tell that to the Dems working behind the scenes.
I am fine dumping Biden if you have a plan and are united behind Harris but so far that doesn’t seem to be the case which is terrifying
AOC: "If you think that is going to be an easy transition, I'm here to tell you that a huge amount of the donor class and these elites who are pushing for the president not to be the nominee also do not want to see the VP be the nominee."
Definitely Clinton’s loss in 2016. Shit was so bleak for Democrats, nothing short of incredible how quick the party bounced back from arguably the lowest level of political power in the modern era
@mattkelley018
Yea and we’ll see if these voters actually turnout in significant numbers and if she holds ground/gains in the suburbs. There’s definitely a high burden of proof she can actually flip it this year but getting it much closer isn’t crazy
I do feel like I gotta point out the contrast here that if Biden did this at the Green Party they’d be breaking in during regular programming to gasp about how awful it is and saying he needs to step aside
New digital ad in
#FLSen
: Debbie Mucarsel-Powell’s campaign is slamming Sen. Rick Scott on abortion. The spot highlights Scott’s support for the state’s ban on abortion after six weeks that will go into effect shortly.
Im fine hedging D gains in polls as possibly noise, but the fact some of the better people on here didn’t do that last week for questionable but good polls for R’s and made it out be a tsunami is just frustrating and why people question your credibility.
@MMiraculorum
Him actually sending money to Utah Dem Party + coming here or sending surrogates really helps morale if nothing else. What money he has sent already could very well be what ends up flipping a couple house seats in SLCO or the County Council
If you’re hoping D’s are going to message to Asian voters in their native language boy do I have news for you. AAPI Victory Fund found success in the NY03 doing it and plan to expand it to other races this Nov.
House Majority PAC? They ran ads in Spanish and Mandarin
Democrats say AAPI voters propelled a special election victory. Now they aim to replicate that success in competitive races across the country in November.
1. Utah is exploding in growth
2. We are continuing a march to MAGA which a significant portion of the key demographics of the state don’t like
3. R margins keep dropping in the areas we need to win
Yeah I’m bullish on D’s long term here but it’ll take work
The U.S. crime rate is still dropping, FBI data shows
"...a 13% decline in murder in 2023 from 2022, a 6% decline in reported violent crime and a 4% decline in reported property crime,"
@KenDilanianNBC
reports.
Dems are bringing out the coordinated playbook on this one
CCM, Rosen and Harry Reid's right hand Rebecca Lambe have all shared the Sam Brown Yucca story today
Jesus 30k prominent black women are going to get on a call to support Kamala tonight according to Joyce Beatty on MSNBC from civil rights to sorority groups
New: VP Harris has told top advisers that she’s looking for a running mate who can “balance the ticket,” someone who is more of a “governing partner,” and effectively “someone with executive experience at the highest level.”

@JasJWright
LDS people you aren’t alone and we are more than welcoming to you and Republicans who have had enough. Be like Giles. You don’t have to agree with us all the time, you don’t gotta start doing everything we do, but you do need to help save this country
Mayor John Giles, a Republican from Mesa, is getting raucous applause here for saying he'll vote for Harris/Walz. Says he's putting "country over party."
Nothing pisses me off more than attacking Trans people. Where the fuck is the Spencer Cox who gave an emotional speech after Pulse? Where’s the guy who choked back tears when the legislature tried to ban trans youth in sports?
The “reasonable” GOP in this state totally MIA
I to am leaning Kamala, because I don’t think this will ever end. But if you’re a Dem who got us here you sure as shit better coronate Kamala and act if she is the second coming for the next 3 months
I can live with Biden staying in. I am fine with Kamala taking the wheel.
The only thing I’m firmly against is a mini-primary/open convention. It’s baffling to me that serious people are even talking about it.
It’s still so funny seeing the contrasts in the parties
*Biden stutters* THROW
HIM OUT NOW
*Trump gets convicted* Frankly it doesn’t matter, it may even help him!
You’re wondering about the implications of a D+5 National Environment in regard to the House and Senate, but I am wondering what that may mean for us in state legislature races
Well funded state Dem parties, professionalized DLCC, amazing recruits. Year of the states my friends
Can we get our fucking balls back and realize you got months to go? Who cares what your vibes and opinions are how about you fight for the country. If you’re this willing to give up you seriously make me worried on how you’re able to perform in a high stress job
Anecdotal but my dad a Trump->Biden voter who definitely isn’t a super plugged in voter is terrified of the recent SCOTUS decisions especially the immunity case.
NEW
@BidenHQ
Ad: "They Don't Care" featuring Kentuckian Hadley Duvall, who became pregnant at 12 after being raped by her stepfather.
"Trump and JD Vance don’t care about women. They don’t care about girls in this situation. They will continue to take our rights away."
Biden going to try to stem bleeding and maybe turn the clock back a bit in rural areas. For instance Rusk County in Wisconsin, and Biden has 46 offices in Wisconsin alone across 42 counties, half of which Trump won by double digits. (There’s also 3 in Milwaukee before you piss)
President Biden's campaign is investing in dozens of field offices in some of the nation's reddest counties, pressing its early money advantage to establish political beachheads in hostile territory.
I really am so glad Cox did this. We can use it literally everyday, sometimes multiple times a day to show how fake his moderate shtick is and how much of a coward he is
Biden going up with $50m in battleground + national cable ads (including streaming) before the debate. $1m at least is specifically geared towards Black, Latino, and Asian voters along with ads highlighting Trump’s conviction
Planned Parenthood gonna spend $40m in AZ/GA/PA/WI/NC/MT/NH/NY on canvassing, phonebanking, digital+tv ads and mailers. Local chapters in CA/FL/MI/MN/NV/NC/OH are also planning advocacy campaigns separate from this
Typical pull yourself up by your bootstrap Republican’s taking near $1m in PPP loans. Look idc people need help sometimes, I care about the hypocrisy here by Rachelle Morris.
How dare she lecture us on and put down parents who need help to feed their kids
Sheehy weirdly lied to a federal official and has been posting like a guy off his meds today. Absolutely he’s lying about something bigger the question is going to be what it is
My view is that "Sam Alito kinda wants to retire" is pretty clear from some of his (and Martha-Ann's) comments lately, but I think this is the first time I've seen a plugged-in Supreme Court reporter confirm it
@MichaelDavLange
Resources/cost for one, but it seems to be happening more and more with state parties being funded much better and the DNC/DLCC being in a much better position
Vote .org says it has now registered more than 100,000 new voters since President Biden withdrew from the race.
Among the 100,000 new registrations:
• 84% are younger voters (ages 18-34)
• 18% are 18-year-old voters
• The top ten states for new voters are: TX, CA, FL, NY,
Increasingly don’t even recognize my state anymore. We’re losing absolutely everything to bullshit culture wars and white grievances
We can’t afford to sit on the sidelines, it’s a tipping point for everything we hope our society can be and everything we’re terrified of
Utah Gov.
@SpencerJCox
believes Republicans will make “a huge mistake” if they select former President Donald Trump as the party’s 2024 nominee. | By
@sambbenson
SOTU doesn’t usually matter, no. But the elite discourse around Biden and his age has been so negative and there’s so much slack in Biden’s numbers among traditional Democratic groups that it’s easy to see how even a typical performance could be unusually helpful
NEW: A memo first shared with CBS News outlines the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee's long-term targets in several states - including three critical battleground states.
So many people in this country don’t get the luxury to just “give up”. These Dems had weeks to push Biden out and instead they just doomed to the press day in and out.
It’s time to stop having a pity party and act like you want to win this election.
If you’re resigned to losing & don’t care about the downstream effect that it’ll have on Dems in downballot races, whatever.
But the least you can do is keep that to yourself, because there are many of us that are doing the work & we are nowhere close to throwing in the towel.
One of Biden’s best attributes was largely the people in admin and bureaucratic rolls he put in are such an improvement from previous Dems of the last 30+ years.
There are all kinds of rules and regulations that were needed forever ago but they finally did it.
On everything else? Fuck that. We cannot go back to Obama-era policy on Ukraine, or abandon big fiscal and industrial policy, or start undercutting unions big-time and let deficit hawks back in to the building.
If Obama lead a violent coup I think I speak for basically all Democrats that he should have been prosecuted. Your “moderate” state senator doing Trump revisionism everyone
