If you are new to the show, check out the back catalogue! Most of my episodes deal with timeless big ideas and not current events, and I hope you find them helpful and informative! Enjoy!
I really want to pick a stupid fight with
@ComicDaveSmith
over some minor disagreement so that he will retweet me for engagement, but I find myself supporting most of what he says.
In case you were worried that the
@wef
might not be full of elitist authoritarians who don’t care about common people, they made it clear that dissension won’t be tolerated.
@Ezra4Liberty
Everyone should read ‘The Communist Manifesto’; it demonstrates Marx’s reliability on social and political categories that are completely at odds with reality. Mises deals with this in his essay ‘Liberty and Property’.
I couldn’t think of a more relevant collection of lectures! Ludwig von Mises on money and inflation; it explains everything! Check out
@mises
and all of the great works they publish!
I finally got to meet my congressional representative, the great
@RepThomasMassie
! He is the most principled man in congress and it is an honor to vote for him! Unbelievably cool experience!
What’s worse?
1. Harris calling Biden a racist and accepting the VP nomination anyway?
or
2. Vance calling Trump ‘Hitler’ and accepting the VP nomination anyway?
or
3. Does this demonstrate that none of our leaders are serious or principled?
@abbythelibb_
@MikeSington
Taking the politics out of it, cooking food is generally much better for your health than eating at any fast-food restaurant!
As a Kentucky public school teacher, Beshear needs to go. His Covid policies have wrecked our students and he will never address any of the structural issues involving public education. Check out my interview with competitor Daniel Cameron:
@HannahFrankman
Agreed. As a teacher, I see how destructive the culture of public schools can be, and they in no way reflect the way social interactions happen in the workplace. It’s wild!
@RoscoeJones
I completely agree. When I was in student ministry I always felt like purity culture only encouraged kids to think more about sexual activity than they would otherwise. Using guilt to change behavior is often counter-productive.
Just had the privilege of meeting the great
@ryanmcmaken
from the incredible
@mises
. You need to follow both; the Mises Institute is one of the greatest libertarian organizations of all time!
Mises explains that inflationary policies benefit government at the expense of private savings and capital investment. It distorts the purchasing power of profits and leads to decreased production for business and increased costs for consumers.
@JoshEakle
To be fair, all of the immigrants that passed through Ellis Island had to file paperwork and received citizenship under certain conditions, right? That isn't the same as a truly open border.
Hey,
@ChaseForLiberty
, I am an
@LPMisesCaucus
supporter who plans on voting for you.
You know I would give you a fair hearing and would love to talk about the divisions in
@LPNational
with you.
Let me know if you’re interested!
The Fed is the reason why my friends with 3 kids can’t afford groceries and why we have been bombing innocent children overseas for my entire life.
Let’s do it.
Let’s end the Fed.
12 years of marriage today! My wife is commendably not on Twitter but if she was I would wish her a happy anniversary! I guess I will just do it in real life instead!
Jesus commands his followers to take care of the poor, not ask rich politicians to take money from working class people and distribute it to constituents.
@HarrisonGarlic1
Wow. As a committed Protestant I can say with confidence that guy has never studied Catholic theology before. Rob needs to read some books.
As a libertarian, I disagree with nearly everyone on economic and political fundamentals.
I still love and respect everyone in my life.
It’s because my identity is in Christ, not politics.
@LtGovColeman
This is a step in the right direction! Can we advocate that the legislature abolished all cannabis prohibitions in the state? I think it would be a political winner!
Hundreds of professional economists, political pundits, and politicians can't explain or define 'inflation', and yet the textbook I use to teach my 7th grade students about the middle ages gets it correct.
We need to stop taking self-styled 'elites' seriously.
@Punctuationamok
@nycexpatmom
@ianmSC
@ProfEmilyOster
@TheAtlantic
@AFTunion
I am a teacher who is not a part of the union and I agree with what your are saying here. The unions don’t look out for the students or parents, they look out for themselves. It’s hard to be a public servant when the goal is only to serve yourself! Sorry for your struggle!
While I love and respect most of the libertarian field and will likely support the LP nominee regardless of who wins, my personal preferences are
@JoshuaAtLarge
at the top of the ticket and
@LibertyLockPod
as VP.
Both are excellent messengers of our philosophy.
Libertarianism, which is built upon the principle that no individual has the right to initiate aggression against another individual, is the most consistent political expression of Christian social values.
I have been waiting all summer to read
@caroljsroth
’s new book ‘You Will Own Nothing’.
Just got it in the mail and am ready to start in!
After a few pages I can certifiably say that this is a must-read. The hype was worth it! Get yourself a copy!
@jeffdeist
's new article over at the Mises Institute does an incredible job of explaining the difference between money and monetary policy. This is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand how fiat money is a tool of government power.
This article on economic illiteracy by
@CalebSFuller
over at
@mises
perfectly outlines the deficiencies of public economic discourse.
Our society desperately needs an adequate grasp of economic principals.
Check it out:
The libertarian case against Christian nationalism is obvious, but I am genuinely excited to see how
@profsamperry
, who subscribes to a different political persuasion than my own, handles the issue. I think that there will be much to learn in this book! Also, it’s a hardcover!
Jesus never attempted to ban prostitution.
He probably wouldn’t attempt to ban porn either.
Maybe Christians should just stop using it instead of forcing everyone else to comply with our values.
It’s a good week to end US support for the war in Yemen.
If you don’t live in KY-4, go to to contact your representative.
@scotthortonshow
and
@HassanElTayyab
make the case in the recent episode of Scott’s show. Check it:
In Ep. 51, I talk to Clint Russell, host of
@LibertyLockPod
, about the World Economic Forum and their attempts to manage global business and government. We discuss ESG scores, censorship, Agenda 2030, conspiracy theories, and much more! Check it out:
Prayers for
@angela4LNCChair
and
@LPNational
for having to manage the media fallout due to the number of over-the-top memes that libertarian accounts are going to drop on Friday. They will probably be funny but man the social media firestorm is going to be insane!
When Jesus says to feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, clothe the naked, and visit those in prison he doesn’t say that we should vote for politicians who will give the state a monopoly on charity.
He tells his followers to do it.
@wilkoffe
Not only do I agree with this statement, but I think men should be in the habit of serving their wives and cleaning all of the time, not just when they are pregnant. I think they call that ‘unconditional love’ or something like that…
Progressive Christians who want the government to run the schools, roads, welfare, and other social services because of their faith cannot criticize Christian nationalist for wanting to impose their own beliefs on society through law.
There is no fundamental difference.
Just got this in the mail! Can’t wait to read this important volume on Paul and supersessionism! Edited by two of my favorite NT scholars,
@mbird12
and
@scotmcknight
. All other reading is going on hold until this one is finished!
