I spent 25 years of my life in Delhi but did not face any discrimination. Maybe it had something to do with my "look". But this is not to say most Northeastern people don't. Axone, now streaming on Netflix, is a terrific film on Northeastern people in Delhi. Highly recommended.

My experience--both first-hand and second-hand--with doctors in Assam has been terrible. A couple of years back one of them wanted to amputate my mother's leg. I got her over to Delhi, showed her to someone here, who gave her medicines worth Rs 1000, and she got fine.

I don't understand: why do we need to have a separate time zone for Assam, when all we need to do is start work an hour early? In my company office starts at 9 AM instead of the usual 10. This has taken care of the sun's positional difference. So why a separate time zone?

AMIT SHAH'S SUGGESTION HAS FAILED: @rockyandmayur Purely from a business point of view, with gas at 900 and cooking oil at 200 and petrol at 100 if I want to go and buy ingredients, the Pakora Business isn’t what it used to be. The bottom has dropped out of the Pakora business.
