"Yesterday was a milestone for me as I presented my PhD thesis colloquium! Grateful and elated doesn't even begin to describe it. Even more special - my twin sister presented hers just one day before me. So proud of us both! 🎓👩🎓

Honoured and extremely humbled to be selected for the Rising Stars Symposium in Soft and Biological Matter 2022 organised by UChicago and UCSD MRSECs.
Thank you for this opportunity.

Just posted our paper on Arxiv after 2 years of meticulous experiments! We unveil a morphodynamic link in deformable active cell monolayers, showing how geometric constraints dictate jamming/unjamming.

Forgot to mention - I'm a soft matter experimentalist and my twin sister is a hard condensed matter theorist. Different fields, but same drive and determination to succeed. Exciting times ahead! 🧪💻

One-third of Indian STEM conferences have no women
Women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics faculty are rare, and women speaking at conferences are even rarer quoted from the article.
We need better representation. Any suggestions?
My paper co-authored with Prof. Umesh Waghmare and Prof. C.N.R. Rao just got published in Advanced Materials. We study metavalent bonding whose electronic mechanisms and origin remain controversial over the past decade.
It was a pleasure to present our work on the dynamics of programmableDNA origami triangles on engineered lipid bilayers at NECF(New England Complex Fluids Workshop), Tufts University.

Living cell collectives can jam/unjam through many pathways, yet the details remain elusive. We design a monolayer of deformable cellmimics composed of chiral active granular ellipsoids confined in paper rings and show a re-entrant jamming transition mediated by cell shape change

Most interesting part during her experimental journey was to see her handling those tiny terribly cute 3D printed rice size particles for her experiments with tiny little fingers!
