Added these damage text things I'm actually the type to always turn off damage numbers but I realized these can make up for my shitty tutorial, so I added it as a setting. Still not sure if it should be on or off by default 🤔 #indiedev #gamedev

honestly would've still preferred to not have any text at all, but I think players understanding your system takes precedence over a clean HUD. That said, I might experiment with different default settings based on the selected difficulty.

@WardensWillGame Yeah, I want to explore the idea of the character being forced into difficult situations where pacifism isn't always an easy solution. Gameplay-wise, disarming enemies can be riskier than going for a kill.

Damn, the fact that #GodotEngine 's AnimationPlayer automatically previews keyframes from an AnimatedSprite just makes it so much more convenient.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I think I will combine every 2-3 sections into a bigger section. The enemies can be deceptively hard for beginners so I still want to have some breaks in the tutorial area, but for later levels, I might experiment with even larger sections.

@CodaAnthony1 @Nyghtwalker I've heard of Fez! Never played it, but the 2D/3D looks very impressive. I do think it would be super cool to see that kind of mechanics especially to create intricate shortcuts, but I can't imagine how complicated the code's gonna be haha

@Crymblade Yeah, I'm still trying to figure that out. Right now, the only telegraph is the bar appearing; there's a grace period while the bar depletes for you to notice and hold. However, I might introduce other telegraphs like an explicit symbol or certain poses.

@GhostHandDev Its mainly for the combat system, since there's a lot tightly coupled interactions that would benefit from strict type and null safety. I still use GDScript for standalone nodes.
