Ahead of Christmas, a mother and her three children will be moving out of homelessness and into this home in
#Louth
today, where they will receive continued support from our Housing With Supports team in the area.
Best of luck to all the children taking part in the
#LateLateToyShow
and especially those who will leave it not to go home but to go to a homeless service or hotel. We owe it to them to give a true Christmas gift and commit to ending homelessness.
🏠 We recently completed work on 6 studio apartments with separate bathrooms on Inchicore Road. The apartments underwent extensive refurbishment with support from

We recently completed work to convert another long-time derelict building into 6 one bed apartments in Cork City with support from

This week we started works on a €1.1m renovation and upgrade project on Eagle Lodge, Rathmines that will see delivery of 19 apartments for single people early in 2023.
Thanks to
@housingdcc
and
@DeptHousingIRL
for their support in funding this project.
🔑 In December we moved 65 people impacted by homelessness into homes of their own across Ireland. All of the homes were fully furnished and kitted out with essentials - giving people a safe and warm home, just in time for Christmas.
This is Benny. Today, our Dublin Housing First team housed him in his own apartment. Benny has slept rough on and off for years on Henry Street but now he has the key to his own home. We continue to deliver for the most vulnerable during COVID-19.

A huge thanks to Brother Kevin and friends at the Capuchin Day Centre for helping us with food supplies for the extreme cold weather service in St Catherine's Sports Centre this week. Pictured here with Brother Kevin is our National Director of Services, Brian Friel.

We were delighted to launch Castle Court in Dublin City today. The 13 apartments have been renovated to high spec and will house those impacted by homelessness. Take a look inside the apartments in this short video.
We are honoured to host
@PresidentIRL
Michael D Higgins today. He is paying a visit to our first service, which was established 40 years ago by Fr Peter McVerry. It now provides residential care for young people under the age of 18.
Between now and Christmas we will open new emergency accommodation for 100 single adults and 24 families in Dublin. The single largest phase of emergency accommodation we have ever provided.
There is a pressing need to fund more drug treatment services nationally, with a focus on increasing stabilisation, respite and crisis beds. Services should be delivered in a person centred manner with an understanding that 'one size does not fit all'.
Thanks for all your lovely comments regarding Peter McVerry's win at the
@peopleawards
on Sunday. We have passed your wishes on to Peter and he appreciates your kind words and support.
We are deeply saddened to hear reports that a man sleeping rough in a tent in Ranelagh died this morning. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

We welcome the significant reduction in people recorded as accessing emergency homeless accommodation in December 2019. The drop of 717 (7%) in a single month is very positive and reflects the hard work by AHBs and LAs to deliver social housing.
Our amazing staff have been working flat out to deliver the single largest mobilisation of emergency beds in our 35 year history. Since Monday we have brought over 170 extra exceptional cold weather beds into the system in Dublin and Kildare.
