@ritaresarian Every 20 years this happens like clockwork. I remember the coders making $90,000 who lost jobs with the crash. Most public college - 2 -4 year degrees are well worth the investment. Education is a safety net of sorts & helps you lift up your community.

@ahouse4all My mother had to wait 5 years on a list to qualify for a low-income apartment. It was not Section 8. Still it saved her life. She had a disability and very limited alimony. Medication alone cost her $500 per month. A 15-year wait for a rental is deadly.

I wish all the young people I know who are not vaccinated would see how dangerous this is. And yes, at the community college many, many young people are too afraid to get vaccinated. Many don't have a good relationship with a doctor. Others listen to Joe Rogan.

For anyone working in mutual aid, this year is a very good one to promote a full-time enrollment at community colleges for anyone who needs support. CA is awarding qualifying students $8,000 grants. CalFresh & other resources are available for DACA etc.

@daycathy @AMLeahy If I made this rate, I would not need to work at more than two institutions and I would feel fairly compensated. After a lifetime adjuncting, this is roughly what I believe I should be paid per class. The MLA is correct.

In his book he depicts cartoon Germans dashing about under skies streaked in long plumes of ash, the remains of Jews being exterminated in ovens, while coolly going about their business. Chilling.

@PplsCityCouncil I'll never forget how @RealJamiePenn responded to my call to find housing for a family I saw living in a tent on the side of the 110 Freeway. At dusk, I saw a toddler standing before opening in a tent. It just gutted me. Jamie offered me hotel vouchers. Didn't know me but cared.
