And now you get teens with no interest in YA because a lot of it isn’t actually written for them. And when it *is* written for teens, adult reviewers rate it poorly saying “this book is too YA for me :/” Of course it is!! It’s not for you!! The world doesn’t revolve around you!!

This isn’t to say adults shouldn’t read YA. You should, if you want to! There’s tons and tons of amazing, well-written, impactful YA books out there. But you do have to respect that you’re not the target audience and not everything is going to appeal to you, and that’s okay
