You don't ask God to teach you how to write. Or make you write. You write. Each draft, a request. It is nakedness. It is death. To write is to pray. To pray is to rewrite until the story says, 'Okay, I'm fully formed.' Therein lies an answered prayer.

If you struggle to write: Write, "I am struggling to write." That's a sentence already. What should be the next? Maybe: "I don't know how to proceed." That's another sentence. You are writing. Let it lead you to wherever your struggle is.

Sometimes, the goal of sending the story out is to detach. Or gauge its strength. The distance affords you to see what's missing, unnecessary, or vague. If a rejection comes, it wouldn't matter as you'd have moved to a better version of the story.
